Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for Hawkeye Episode 2.

New Hawkeye episode 3 footage sees Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop being chased by Alaqua Cox’s Echo. The latest Disney+ series introduces the deaf Native American superheroine to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an antagonist to Renner and Steinfeld’s titular archers as the leader of the Tracksuit Mafia. A spin-off series centered on Echo is currently in development for Disney+ with Marion Dayre attached as head writer.

Heavily inspired by Matt Fraction and David Aja’s 2012 comic run, Hawkeye takes place four years after the events of Avengers: Endgame as Clint brings his kids to New York City for a fun Christmas vacation, the first since they came back from The Blip. However, when Kate Bishop inadvertently draws the attention of Clint’s Ronin enemies by donning the suit to investigate her mom’s suspicious fiancée, Clint reluctantly takes her under his wing and tries to clean up her mess in time to get back to his family for Christmas. With the first two episodes of Hawkeye now streaming on Disney+, new looks at what’s to come have begun rolling out.

On the heels of the show’s premiere, Marvel Studios has debuted a new Hawkeye behind-the-scenes video. The featurette, which introduces Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop to the MCU, features episode 3 footage of Clint and Kate being chased by Echo and the Tracksuit Mafia. Check out the new video below:

Maya Lopez/Echo’s introduction into the MCU with Hawkeye episode 2 marked an interesting development for the character and her arc to be seen in the series. In the comics, Lopez was adopted by Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin, after he killed her father and initially serves as an antagonist to Daredevil with her ability to expertly recreate any movement she’s seen before realizing the error of her ways and turning towards the good side of the law, first as Ronin and later as Echo and joining the New Avengers. With Doctor Sleep star Zahn McClarnon attached to the cast of Hawkeye as Lopez’s father, many have wondered how true to her comic book origins the show will be.

Additionally, with rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin from Netflix’s Daredevil could appear in Hawkeye, Echo’s introduction as an antagonist in the series has captured the curiosity of audiences of whether these rumors could be true. With the Hawkeye episode 3 footage showing Clint and Kate on the run from Echo alongside the Tracksuit Mafia, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season explores her dynamic in regards to the heroic duo and leads up to her spin-off series. Viewers can catch up on the first two episodes of the latest MCU series on Disney+ now.
