Since the very moment that Ted Mosby laid his eyes on Robin Scherbatsky, the hapless romantic wanted nothing more than to be with her. Truth be told, it was your classic sitcom love at first sight moment until Future Ted via narration revealed that this was how he met “Aunt Robin.”

It took over one hundred hours of television, a few heartbreaks, and several kids, but Teddy Westside finally got what he wanted, much to the dismay of a lot of fans of How I Met Your Mother. No matter how the series ended, Robin Sparkles had an interesting life and made some questionable decisions on her way to being with Ted. Here are the 10 Worst Things That Robin Has Ever Done.

10 Leads Ted On

While she never changed her stance on wanting children and seeing the world and she never stopped explaining this to Ted, that didn’t stop her at just about every turn keeping the poor guy right at the end of a hook.

This is more or less throughout the whole series. The biggest crescendo was actually being Ted’s roommate and hooking up with him at every turn. It took nearly seven years into the series for Ted to ask Robin honestly if she loved him, and her reply was the most honest she’s ever had – “no.”

9 Dates And Marries Barney

Ted might have been madder at Barney for breaking the Bro Code and sleeping with his beloved Robin, but it definitely takes two to tango. They were both equally culpable in this, Robin more so. She could have put a stop to it at any time, but just continued to fall for Barney and not take Ted’s feelings into consideration.

That’s not necessarily her job, but when you’re part of a group of friends and it could damage the group dynamic, you probably should.

8 Jealous Of Ted’s Happiness

Robin knew full well how Ted had always felt about her. Whether she was right or wrong about it, she always found a way to be jealous of Ted, whenever he was successfully moving on.

Thankfully for everyone, it didn’t work out between Ted and Stella. But it wasn’t in Robin’s place at all to be the one to speak up about Stella not being right for Ted. It made her seem like someone who didn’t want Ted to be happy just so she could always have a backup.

7 Chooses Kevin Over Barney

Robin’s allowed to date whoever she wants, so it’s not so much that she chose Kevin over Barney. Rather, it was the way it all went down. First, she cheats on Kevin with Barney, who had cheated on Nora. Then, together, the two of them decided to tell Kevin and Nora and then meet up and Maclaren’s to be together.

Robin tells Nora the truth and that it wasn’t just a fling. But as he was waiting at the bar, Robin decided to choose Kevin. It might have been nice to shoot him a quick text or a phone call instead of seeing the look on his face turn from elation to utter heartbreak.

6 Robin Wants To Be A Godparent

Since more or less the very beginning of the show, we knew (and everyone on the show knew) that Robin didn’t want kids. Later seasons showed that she didn’t even like kids.

She really should have taken herself out of the running of being the godmother to Lily and Marshall’s son, Marvin. What parent in their right mind would entrust their children with a friend who wants little to nothing to do with kids in the event of their untimely demise?

5 “Nobody Asked You, Patrice!”

Out of all the running gags on the show, Robin ripping into the nicest girl ever, Patrice, is just plain mean. The show wasn’t very kind to the character either.

There was never any explanation as to why Robin would jump down her throat and scream “nobody asked you, Patrice!” Patrice, ever the saint, still helped Barney concoct his grand scheme to propose to Robin.

4 Tries To Take Over Marshall’s Bar

While she was feeling slightly down in the dumps and missing home, Marshall did what Marshall would have done. He introduced Robin to a little slice of his own home, right in New York – a Minnesota themed bar.

But instead of being grateful and humble and enjoy herself, she started claiming Marshall’s stories for her own. Even after he outed her, Marshall was a good friend and went and found a Canadian-themed bar that Robin could go to.

3 Robin Leaves The Group

While she did it for her own self-preservation, Robin walking away from the group during the events of “The Last Forever” broke Lily to the core. Robin, along with everyone else in the group made a promise that no matter how far they drift apart they would always be there for the big moments.

But after her marriage crumbled shortly into the finale began and she couldn’t handle Ted being happy without her, Robin just couldn’t deal with the thought of seeing her old friends.

2 Her Treatment Of Victoria

In the early days of the show, it was established that Robin wasn’t the mother. But no one knew who the titular character would wind up being. Ted met the fetching Victoria and the two immediately clicked. Fans even voted her the best of Teddy’s girlfriends.

As they grew closer, Robin was fairly mean to her, obviously jealous of Ted and Victoria’s relationship. Despite knowing how Ted felt about her and that he was still with her, she invited him over late-night anyway, again leading him on and disregarding everyone but herself.

1 Steals Lily And Marshall’s Story

In the episode “Knight Vision,” we learn just how much Robin and Barney are alike. Robin stole the story of how Lily and Marshall met in college in order to convince the reverend to marry them!

If you’ve ever watched a second of How I Met Your Mother, then you know how important that story is to Lily and Marshall and Robin just selfishly took it for her own and when it backfired, the reverend actually died.
