The Hogwarts Legacy release window has reportedly leaked from a reputable leaker known for giving details about Star Wars Eclipse and other titles. As of right now, Hogwarts Legacy is still slated for 2022, but it appears like it’ll be launching later in the year and maybe align with the holiday season. Details are still rather scarce on the game as WB has remained quiet about the game since its initial reveal in 2020.

WB did recently confirm that Hogwarts Legacy will release after the new Fantastic Beasts film, which is currently slated to release in April 2022. With that said, it’s likely the game will miss the first half off 2022 and help pad out an already busy-looking holiday line-up for the gaming industry. As of right now, WB is planning to release Gotham Knights in spring 2022 and will then release Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League at an unspecified date later in the year. It’s likely it will release a while after Gotham Knights to give the game some room to breathe, though.

A recently unearthed tweet (via ComicBook.com) from insider AccNGT claims Hogwarts Legacy will release between summer 2022 and the end of the year. The tweet was posted on November 10 and, of course, information is subject to change, but it would largely align with the statement that WB gave. A recent NVIDIA leak claimed Hogwarts Legacy would release in March 2022, but that’s looking increasingly unlikely given that’s only three months away and there’s a general lack of information about the game.

WB could time the release of Hogwarts Legacy with the home video release of the new Fantastic Beasts film, which would likely place it around the end of May or June. Only time will tell, but it’s likely that WB will try to get the game into one more big gaming showcase before it releases. Whether there’s a PlayStation event that it can utilize sometime in the spring or an E3 press conference it can be apart of remains to be seen, but it will likely want to get as many eyes on the game as possible.

WB didn’t feature Hogwarts Legacy at E3 2021, something that disappointed many fans. The game also missed the September PlayStation showcase event and The Game Awards 2021, something that seemed like all but a guarantee. The extended silence is causing some confusion for fans, especially since the game was originally expected to release in 2021, but with 2022 steadily approaching, fans likely won’t have to wait long for more info.
