A good number of Pokemon from the Kalos region have been added to Pokemon GO in order to bring in Pokemon’s sixth-generation after the introduction of mega evolution. While many well-known Pokemon from the region, such as the Kalos starters, have been added for players globally, Klefki is a different case.

Klefki is a dual Steel and Fairy-type Pokemon that can now be found in the wild in Pokemon GO. It doesn’t have any pre-evolved forms or any other Pokemon it can evolve into, making any Klefki candy only useful for changing moves and powering the Pokemon up.

While Klefki can be found in the wild, making it spawn will be difficult for the majority of players around the world. This is due to Klefki being one of the few region-locked Pokemon available in Pokemon GO, which means that Klefki will only spawn in a specific real-world location.

This isn’t the first time Pokemon in Pokemon GO were region-exclusive to a single country, with Bouffalant being exclusive to New York City and states surrounding it in the United States of America. Klefki’s status however will definitely provide some difficulties for players trying to complete their Pokedex in-game.

What Should Players Know About Klefki In Pokemon GO?

If players are lucky enough to catch Klefki, it can have a max CP of 1949 and is weak to only Fire and Ground-type moves. It also resists Dragon, Bug, Dark, Fairy, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Poison, Psychic, and Rock-type moves. With Klefki’s moveset, its best moves would be having Tackle for its fast move and Play Rough for its charge move.

As more Pokemon from the Kalos region are implemented into Pokemon GO, it is entirely possible for more Pokemon to be region exclusive to France or other areas of the real world. Players however will need to wait and see on the status of these Pokemon.

Tips For Catching Klefki In Pokemon GO

Unfortunately, the only way for players to get their hands on Klefki on their own is to travel directly to France and scour the streets for one. For most, this is impractical, but not all hope is lost for those that want to get their hands on the Fairy-type.

It’s still viable to grab the jingly Pocket Monster via a trade, so players will need to seek out friends that live in the colorful country. The best way to do this is to scour forum posts, Facebook Groups, and other areas where Pokemon GO fans can come together from all over the globe. Friending someone from France will give players the best shot in trading for the region-locked Pokemon.

It’s also possible to receive Klefki within an egg that is gifted from a France-based friend. Although it’s a small chance, it’s another possible way to snag one if a players current French friends don’t have immediate access to the key ring-shaped creature.
