While the world of Monster Hunter Rise has many creatures, The Volvidon is known for its particular ability to roll into chaos and destruction. This armadillo-like beast can curl up and roll down rough surfaces without taking damage while it has a chameleon-like tongue to grapple enemies in its path. It is known to destroy its enemies once unfurling from its coil.

Much like any other monster within the world though, the Volvidon does possess weaknesses to certain types of damage and ailments. The trick is to use these in tandem with hitting the right spots on the creature. However, none of that matters until the player can find a Volvidon.

How to Track Down and Hunt the Volvidon in Monster Hunter Rise

The Volvidon is known for its love of hot environments. In particular, this creature is found in the Sandy Plains and the Lava Caverns. Pretty much, any climate that is hot and dry, the Volvidon will love. With this love comes a complete immunity to fire and dragon damage altogether. However, this Fanged Beast still has several types of damage it is weak to.

The most useful types of damage to use on the creature are all physical. Cutting dealing the most damage with Blunt and Ammo following close behind. None of the elemental damage types will do much of anything, but if choosing from them Water is the best. Out of the ailments that can be inflicted on the monster, Blast, Waterblight, and Stun will work the best.

The next thing to think about is what parts of the monster’s body parts are the weakest. Although players would likely believe the abdomen or underbelly to be the most sensitive, the most sensitive place to hit it is its head. Other good spots on the creature to attack are the upper body and back. While all of the body will take some amount of damage it is much less than these sensitive spots, with the least sensitive being the Rear and Foreleg.

Once the beast is taken down, players may be able to collect certain materials from the creature. The most likely things that the Volvidon may drop are Volvi Rickrack and Volvidon Claw. Players also have a smaller chance of collecting any of the following, Volvidon Shell, Paralysis Sack, Jumbo Bone, Monster Fluid, and Beast Tear.

Lastly, to protect the player, remember that the Volvidon has a sticky tongue that it uses to grapple and eat enemies in its path. So before heading out to hunt them down players should pick up some Deodorant. When equipped, this will keep the creature from trying to eat the player outright.
