Heracross makes its debut in the Galar region of Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will help players locate a Heracross on the Isle of Armor. Over 100 Pokemon have returned back into the limelight with the release of the Isle of Armor. This marks the first time in the series history where a mainline title has received paid DLC. The base game released with only 400 out of the potential 800+ Pokemon from the series. Game Freak, the developer behind the Pokemon games has confirmed that over 200 Pokemon will return through free DLC. Here’s how players can find their very own Heracross in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
Heracross is a Pokemon that made its debut in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Previously, the Bug-type line of Pokemon was amongst some of the weakest. This changed with the release of the second generation, where powerful Pokemon like Scizor and Heracross have made their debut. Even during the Johto region reign of the Pokemon anime had Heracross with a significant presence. Ash Ketchum, the series main protagonist, had a Heracross of his own. Heracross though was one of the unfortunate Pokemon unavailable in the base Pokemon Sword & Shield. Although, players can now capture one through the Isle of Armor. Here’s where Heracross is located on the Isle of Armor.
Where To Find Heracross in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Heracross is only available on the Isle of Armor, meaning players without the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass will be unable to get their own without trading or bringing one in from Pokemon Home. Heracross can be found in the Training Lowlands. Fortunately, it is one of the Pokemon that can be found wandering about in the overworld. Although, Heracross only has a 5% chance of making an appearance so it might be a while before it spawns into existence. Ride around on the bike until one finally spawns. It will be level 60 when the player encounters it (assuming the player has beaten the Pokemon League up to this point). Bring along a Pokemon with Thunder Wave to make it easier to capture. Also, a Quick Ball is a great alternative for a quick capture.
The second half of the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass is scheduled to release this Fall, the Crown Tundra. This will include an entirely new wild area to explore, new legendary Pokemon to battle, and over 100 returning Pokemon from previous generations. The wild area has been one of the biggest changes to the series iconic formula. This massive space allows Pokemon to naturally spawn out in the world and players can also play with friends in Max Raid battles in this location. Hopefully, the series can build on this solid, new feature and make it even better with the next entry.
