Shiny Grimer will soon be making an appearance in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can find and capture it. Earlier this year, players were treated to the Kanto Tour event. In this event, players were able to pay a premium to purchase a ticket to access exclusive content and Special Research Tasks. Not only that but all 151 of the original Kanto Pokemon were all Shiny for the very first time. After the event was over, a majority of these Pokemon remained Shiny as players were able to encounter them in the wild, through raids, or hatching eggs. Starting on Tuesday, April 20th from 6 pm to 7 pm local time, players will be able to participate in the Grimer Spotlight Hour. During this time period, Grimer’s spawn rate will increase drastically, making it easier to grind for candy and encounter its Shiny form. Not only that, but players will receive double the amount of Catch Candy for all Pokemon. Adding a Pinap Berry will make each capture bring the total to 12 Candy per capture. This is great for players who want to have a competitively viable Grimer in their team. Although, this is still a great way for players to encounter a Shiny Grimer. For starters, make sure to play on April 20th from 6 pm to 7 pm to partake in the Grimer Spotlight Hour. Since its spawn rate will already be increased, the next thing to do would be to use both a Lure Module or an Incense. These items will increase the number of Pokemon that are spawning even more. From here, just tap the Grimer on the map to check if it’s Shiny. If it’s not, run away and head over to the next one. Repeat this process until the Spotlight Hour is over. This will save the players a bit of time in-between encounters.

Shiny Grimer looks very similar to its Alolan form so make sure to not confuse it and accidentally run away. Each Shiny Pokemon will show a sparkle on the screen before players are able to do anything else. This 1 hour might be your only chance of finding it so good luck with the hunt.
