Tangela is a Grass-type Pokemon that originates from the Kanto region and appears in Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will help players locate and capture this tangled Pokemon. Pokemon Sword & Shield is the definitive Pokemon experience on the Nintendo Switch. Players will select between one of three starters Pokemon and embark on a journey across the new Galar region. Along the way, players will capture new and old Pokemon to build a team and take down various gym leaders across the land. This is all to become the Pokemon Champion of the Galar region. Tangela is one of the Pokemon to appear throughout the Galar region. This guide will help players find and capture it.
Tangela originally made its debut in Pokemon Red and Blue. Although at the time, this Pokemon was not nearly as impressive as it is now. Beforehand, Tangela was the only Pokemon available in its evolutionary line. Although, with the release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, several older Pokemon were given new entries to their evolutionary line. This includes Tangela, which can now evolve into Tangrowth, its bulky evolution. Tangela will only evolve once it levels up while knowing the move Ancient Power. This was one of the few new evolutions introduced in the Sinnoh region. Now, Tangela can be found within Galar due to the Isle of Armor DLC. Where To Find Tangela in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Tangela can only be obtained in-game if the player has purchased the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass. Otherwise, the player will either need to trade with a trainer who owns a Tangela or bring one in from Pokemon Home. Tangela only appears within the Isle of Armor. Trainers can find Tangela wandering about in the Forest of Focus.
It only has a 16% chance of spawning in the overworld and it can appear during any type of weather. Just walk around a bit until it appears in the overworld. It will be level 60 upon encountering it. Make sure to bring a Pokemon that knows Thunder Wave to make it easier to capture. Alternatively, players can use a Quick Ball on the first time to increase their chances of a fast capture. Bringing down its HP in battle is also a way to make it easier to catch.
Pokemon Sword & Shield has the second half of its expansion pass scheduled to release this Fall. This half will include new legendary Pokemon, over 100 Pokemon from previous generations, and a new wild area to explore. This marks the first time in series history where a mainline title has received paid DLC. The first half of the DLC, the Isle of Armor, was met with a mixed reception. Regardless, trainers are heavily anticipating their next trip into the Galar region.
