How To Find (& Catch) Tynamo in Pokémon Go

Tynamo has made its debut in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can obtain their own. Pokemon Go is currently hosting an Electric-type Pokemon themed-event with Charged Up! During this time, players will have a chance to capture tons of Electric-type Pokemon, battle against a Mega Manectric for the first time, and encounter the Therian Form of Thundurus. Not only that, but a small handful of Pokemon have been introduced into the game for the very first time. Tynamo was one of the better Electric-type Pokemon to be introduced from Pokemon Black and White. This guide will show players how they can obtain their own.

Tynamo evolves two times and in the mainline titles, its final evolution, Eelektross, is regarded as one of the best Electric-type Pokemon to ever exist. This has a lot to do with it having the ability to Levitate, which allows it to avoid getting hit by Ground-type moves. Since it is a mono-Electric-type Pokemon, not being able to get hit by Ground-type moves means that it has no weaknesses in the game, making it an incredible addition to any player’s team. Now, it makes an appearance in Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can get Tynamo.

Currently, the best way to find Tynamo in the game is by completing the current Timed Research event. The Charged Up event has its own Timed Research event that will come to a close on March 22nd. In the first stage, players will need to catch 5 Electric-type Pokemon, Evolve a Pokemon, and Power a Pokemon 5 times. The player will be rewarded with a Tynamo encounter, an Unova Stone, and 10 Ampharos Mega Energy. Outside of that, players can use a Magnetic Lure Module on a PokeStop to increase the rate of Electric-type Pokemon. Players will need a ton of Candy to get Tynamo up to its final form.

Pokemon Go will likely host more events throughout the month of March to capture the other Therian forms of the legendary genie Pokemon. Pokemon Go is currently hosting its 5th anniversary as well as the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon series as a whole. In order for players to get their own Eelektross, they will need to give Tynamo 25 Candy and then another 100 Candy to bring it to its final form. It will be interesting to see how Eelektross affects the meta of the game.
