Smartphones have advanced at an incredible rate in just a few short years. They’re faster than ever, often have excellent camera systems, and have displays that keep getting better. Compared to phones that came out just 5 or 10 years ago, the differences are night and day.
A prime example of this is the iPhone 13 series. Apple’s latest iPhone lineup is available in four distinct flavors: including the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, and 13 Pro Max. Regardless of which model someone chooses, they’re getting one of the better smartphones available today. However, not everything about the iPhone 13 lineup is perfect! Whether someone’s trying to figure out how to close apps or use the various camera modes available, some things need more explaining than what Apple offers out of the box.
Such is the case with seeing the iPhone 13’s battery percentage. While the iPhone 13 constantly shows a battery icon in the top-right corner of the screen, it doesn’t display the actual percentage. To see this, all users have to do is swipe down from that top-right corner. This shows iOS’s Control Center with a host of settings shortcuts. It also displays the battery percentage next to the battery icon. This screen can be accessed at any time on the iPhone 13. Whether someone’s on the home screen, in an app, or playing a game, they can always swipe down and see their exact battery percentage just like that.
Other Ways To See iPhone 13’s Battery Percentage
If that method doesn’t quite cut it, there are two other ways Apple lets users see their iPhone 13’s battery. One alternative is to add the Batteries widget. Press and hold on any app icon/widget already on the home screen. Tap ‘Edit Home Screen’ on the pop-up that appears, tap the ‘+’ icon in the top-left corner, scroll down, and tap ‘Batteries.’ The first (and smallest) Batteries widget shows an iPhone icon with a ring around it, though there’s no actual percentage. Instead, users will want to choose either the second or third option — both of which show the iPhone 13’s exact percent. Tap ‘Add Widget’ to automatically add it to the next free spot on the home screen, or press and hold the widget to choose where to place it.
Last but not least, iPhone 13 users can also rely on Siri to tell them their battery percentage. Press and hold the Siri button, ask ‘What’s my battery,’ and Siri shows the exact percentage. Would it be more convenient if Apple just added the battery percentage to the top of the screen without any other steps? Of course. But until that happens, these are the next best options.
