Destiny 2 developer Bungie has included several weapons inspired by Halo titles they’ve worked on in the past, and players can unlock these weapon variants in-game. Of course, these weapons are not exactly named after their Halo inspirations, but they feel nearly identical to the most iconic weapons of each game. For example, the new Exotic Forerunner Sidearm in Destiny 2 mechanically feels like the Magnum from Halo: Combat Evolved.

Other Halo weapons that players can get in Destiny 2 are the BXR-55 Battler, Half-Truths, The Other Half, and the Retraced Path. The BXR-55 is a Pulse Rifle modeled after the Battle Rifle from Halo 2, while both Half-Truths and The Other Half, Arc and Void swords, respectively, are inspired by the Energy Sword. Lastly, the Retraced Path is the first Legendary Trace Rifle in Destiny 2, and it is inspired by the Focus Rifle from Halo: Reach.

Fortunately, all players have access to these Halo weapons in Destiny 2 in the free-to-play portions of the game. Players can unlock each of these Halo weapons by completing the new Dares of Eternity activity in Destiny 2 throughout Bungie’s 30th Anniversary event. Dares of Eternity is a six-player, match-made activity with two difficulty settings, normal and legendary. In the normal mode, players will be matched with other random players, similar to Astral Alignment. In the legendary mode, players will need to put together their own team to tackle the challenges, as well as reach the recommended power level of 1320.

After completing Dares of Eternity in Destiny 2, players will be rewarded with a Treasure Key, Strange Coins, and Strange Favor, and they occasionally can receive each of the Halo weapons during the activity or upon its immediate completion. The Treasure Key can be taken back to Xur’s Treasure Hoard in Eternity and used on the chest to the left of Xur. This chest rewards each of the Halo weapons, as well as Destiny 2’s new Wastelander M5 Shotgun and the Pardon Our Dust Grenade Launcher. Both of these weapons are also inspired by titles Bungie has worked on in the past.

Additionally, the Halo weapons can also be earned in Destiny 2 by spending Strange Coins on Paraversal Haul bundles from Starhorse, which may also reward Exotic and Legendary gear or more Strange Coins and Treasure Keys. Strange Coins can also be spent on more Treasure Keys directly to increase the likelihood of earning a Halo weapon more easily. Players should also consider spending their Strange Coins on Starhorse bounties to maximize their rewards, as these bounties are limited each week. Any leftover Strange Coins for the week in Destiny 2 should then be spent on Treasure Keys.
