Last week, we discovered that a Japanese company had created the ultimate gaming bed. For just over $1,000, you could have a piece of furniture that’s got everything but the kitchen sink. It’s got a desk for your monitors, an arm for your TV, an extendable phone holder for your mobile device, a shelf for your keyboard, and a little side table for you to store your snacks. It even has cup holders.

This week, we’re discovering that Japan really has thought of everything. If you can’t afford a gaming bed, then this more modest gaming cushion will at least provide you with close to the same level of convenience and comfort but for a fraction of the price.

From Thanko, a Japanese company that seems to specialize in both home appliances and good ideas, comes the “Turn A Cushion”, so-called because it sort of looks like the letter “A” turned on its side. The idea is that you wrap yourself around the cushion so that your arms are supported for extended gaming sessions on your tablet, phone, Nintendo Switch, or other mobile gaming device.

The Turn A is more than just a fancy cushion, though. There are lots of little things that really push the Turn A into the realm of true genius. Where your elbows would sit are little foam stoppers to keep your arms from sliding off. There are pockets on either side that can store cables, snacks, or drinks, and there’s a detachable extending arm that can hold your phone or tablet. There’s even a pair of legs on the bottom in case you need extra support or just want to hold your cushion at a weird angle.

Best of all, the cover is removable and machine washable, so when you inevitably spill something, cleaning up is quick and easy.

Price is listed at ¥5,980, or roughly $58. That’s not bad for a pillow, although Thanko only seems to ship in Japan, so you’d need to find some way to get your Turn A across the Pacific.
