The large Arkansas family was first introduced to viewers on 19 Kids and Counting, starring Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar and their 19 children. The large family is devout Christians that choose to live by strict standards, which include the girls not wearing pants, courtships, and dressing modestly. TLC cameras filmed as the ten boys and nine girls, including Joshua, twins Jana and John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie started to grow up and date. There was a dark side in recent years when the eldest son, Josh, was accused of sexually abusing several of his sisters and a family friend when they were younger. The TLC show was canceled, but the network decided to give the older children a spin-off called Counting On.

All is not well with the Duggar family and their significant others as tensions seemed to have boiled over the top. The drama was surrounding Jill and her husband Derick who seemed to be at the center by leaking inside Duggar information to the public according to Cheat Sheet. The young couple seldom attends any Duggar family events which included Christmas at the gigantic family home. Jill and Derick have also stopped appearing as regulars on the spin-off Counting On and Derick had been very open in admitting that there was a rift between them. Toward the end of 2019, Derick took to his social media to give an update to his followers. According to Derick’s Instagram, he and his wife sometimes see the extended family, but it had become harder to do so. The reality star went on to divulge that they are not allowed inside the family home if Jim Bob is not present, saying even Jill needs to be invited by her father and given permission.

The eldest Duggar daughter, Jana, who is 29, still lives with her parents and is considerably calmer compared to her siblings. She took to her Instagram to share a story about forgiveness in hopes of bringing her family back together. She posted a quote reading, “There is such a big difference between forgiveness and reconciliation. It takes two to reconcile, so it is not always possible to be reconciled. But it only takes one to forgive. So if people do you wrong, forgive them whether they ask for forgiveness or not.” The quote goes on to read, “But you can set aside your own anger, bitterness, and resentment toward them all.”

Whatever the situation fans are hopeful that the family can repair themselves and come back stronger than ever. Now that Jill doesn’t appear on Counting On any longer, fans will have to see if she’s getting along better with the rest of her big family by watching her social media.
