Over a year after the infamous bridesmaids’ speech was given at Angelina Pivarnick’s wedding, many Jersey Shore fans are starting to think that her entire wedding was actually staged by production for the sake of the show. As seen on Jersey Shore, Angelina was extremely angry with Deena Cortese, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on the night of her wedding. The falling out amongst these four girls seemed quite intense, but they miraculously went back to getting along for the new Family Vacation season as if nothing ever happened. Now, some fans are thinking that the drama may not have been completely real.
Angelina Pirvanick and her husband Chris Larangeria tied the knot in 2019. Their extravagant wedding was portrayed on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 3. The season showed Angelina asking Deena, Nicole, and Jenni to be her bridesmaids. One of the duties of being a bridesmaid is giving a speech at the reception. In typical Jersey Shore fashion, the girls drunkenly gave a speech that included numerous jokes and jabs at Angelina. This ultimately caused a huge falling out amongst the girls, resulting in Nicole quitting the show.
The entire last season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation revolved around Angelina hashing out her issues with Deena and Jenni. Now, as the show returned just last week, the girls are back to being best friends as if there was never any drama or animosity between them. This has left fans wondering if Angelina’s wedding was actually staged by production. Specifically, one Reddit user is convinced that production scripted the drama at the wedding to provide content for the show. While it was made known prior to the wedding that the girls planned on roasting Angelina during the speech, the user noted, “I think Angelina knew about it before hand and was told to milk her reaction for dramatic effect.” They continued on to speculate that production told the girls to play along with Angelina’s reaction.
Production’s role in how the wedding drama unraveled may have actually been a part of a contractual deal. Many believe that since Angelina allowed her wedding to be filmed for the show, MTV actually paid for a majority of the costs. In doing so, Angelina had to agree to have Nicole, Jenni, and Deena as bridesmaids, and subsequently allow them to have a speech. As viewers may recall, weeks prior to the wedding, Jenni and Angelina had a major falling out. However, Angelina still allowed Jenni to be at the wedding, despite their differences. This could have been production’s doing. Having the girls at the wedding allowed it to still be relevant to the show. The added drama from the speech ultimately caused the ratings of the show to rise, adding even more success to MTV.
Truth be told, the fans will never actually know what went on behind the scenes of the wedding drama. On the other hand, the dragged-out and seemingly never-ending drama has finally come to an end. Now, they have so much more to look forward to throughout the new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, including the long-awaited return of Nicole.
