The leaks concerning upcoming DLC for Dragon Ball FighterZ were confirmed yesterday when it was announced that a second season pass with six new fighters was coming to the game.

The first new character to be revealed was Jiren, who was recently leaked through a scan of an upcoming Japanese gaming magazine. Jiren’s inclusion in FighterZ isn’t surprising, as fans have been asking for him to be added into the game for a while now.

The second character to be revealed was Videl, who is a far more surprising choice. The lore of FighterZ explains why all of the characters can fight on an even footing, so it at least makes sense how she can compete with the likes of Beerus and the Saiyans, but the developers still felt the need to include the Great Saiyaman in most of her special moves.

The third and fourth characters to be announced were the Dragon Ball Super version of Broly and the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan version of Gogeta, who both appeared in the recent Dragon Ball Super: Broly film.

We were only shown animated clips of Broly & Gogeta, so we don’t know how they will work in-game just yet.

There are still two more character slots open for the second FighterZ season pass, though smart money is on Ultra Instinct Goku being one of the remaining characters.

The recent issues surrounding Dragon Ball Fighter Z’s inclusion in tournaments led some fans to believe that the game was losing support from behind-the-scenes and that there would be no more additional content, which was especially disappointing to fans of Dragon Ball Super who wanted to see more characters from the show appear in the game.

The fact that we are getting six new characters (and possibly more in the future) means that there is still some fight left in Dragon Ball FighterZ after all and the issues with the game being shown at large tournaments may (hopefully) be resolved as well.

Jiren and Videl will be available to play in Dragon Ball FighterZ on January 31st, 2019.
