After the success of its initial park-building sim, Jurassic World Evolution 2 has been announced at 2021’s Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live presentation by none other than Jeff Goldblum. The first game was met with praise for its unique take on the park-building sim, with a quality version of the game on home consoles being a major point of interest. Of course, raising dinosaurs is a unique challenge in and of itself but Jurassic World Evolution did a fantastic job at making the task enjoyable – while also being visually impressive.
Jurassic World Evolution arrived on Nintendo Switch in late 2020, to a less-than-stellar reception on the underpowered handheld. Given that the game is still fairly new, fans weren’t really expecting a sequel to it anytime soon. Despite this assumption, it appears as if gamers now have another game to anticipate – and they won’t be waiting long to sink their teeth into Jurassic World Evolution 2 either.
After witnessing a few major reveals from Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live (now available to watch on the game’s official YouTube channel), Geoff introduced another man of a phonetically similar name – Jeff Goldblum. After a bit of banter, Goldblum pulled the metaphorical curtain back on Jurassic World Evolution 2. While that reveal would have been a treat on its own, it was also confirmed that the Jurassic World Evolution sequel will arrive in 2021.
Now seems as good a time to announce Jurassic World Evolution 2 given that the next entry in the ongoing film franchise is set to release shortly. Jurassic World: Dominion is looking like one of the most ambitious entries in the film series yet, with plenty of big-name actors from the original Jurassic Park film (including Jeff Goldblum) set to make their long-awaited return. Whether that will also happen within the park sim remains to be seen, but it appears as if Goldblum will reprise his role within the game in some fashion.
Gamers will have to wait on more details from the team behind Jurassic World Evolution 2, Frontier Developments, but given that the title is set to release this year it goes without saying that they probably aren’t all that far behind this announcement. A deep dive into the new features and dinosaurs that are sure to be present in the new title. Truth be told, the sooner players can map out how to get a 5-star park in Jurassic World Evolution 2 the sooner everyone will be able to get to building their dream dinosaur theme park.
