The luxury of having Eevee evolve into Leafon or Glaceon could be coming to Pokémon GO soon.

To date, the Eevee evolutions have failed to show up in the game. However, a new leak may have revealed that a novel mechanic could make them attainable. According to an update from serial leaker Chrales, code found in Pokémon GO’s latest update points to a few new Lure Modules.

Pokémon GO has been around since mid-2016, but these are the first variants of the item since its launch.

The types detailed include a Glacial Lure Module that will attract Pokémon – especially ones who love the cold – for 30 minutes. It can also cause some Pokémon to evolve, which is something that seems perfect for Eevee’s Glaceon evolution. A Mossy Lure Module will attract Pokémon who love mossy scents and can also cause them to evolve, which takes us to Leafon.

A Magnetic Lure Module has also been noted. This one will attract Pokémon possessing a magnetic field and could make evolutions Magnezone and Probopass available for Magnemite and Nosepass.

All of these items are in line with the lure from the original Pokémon games, which needed players to take their characters to a specific area – icy, grassy, or magnetic – to have them evolve. It’s very likely that you’ll have to activate a lure at Pokéstop and stand within its radius to unlock an evolve option.

At the moment, it’s still unclear how these items will be obtained in-game. They’re usually obtained from Pokémon GO’s in-game shop and are available both individually or in bundles. Leveling up also earns you some of them.

It is hoped that these new Lure Modules will be handed out the way Pokémon GO’s previous Gen 4 evolution item, the Sinnoh Stone, was distributed. Those were dished out in PvP battles or as a reward for players completing research to record a weekly streak.

In the meantime, the Detective Pikachu event is live, so you can earn yourself a Pika with a detective cap and catch movie-based spawns, among other things.
