Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is about to get a new DLC this month — and another much bigger one in Q1 2022, according to a leaker. Fans of the Viking RPG can expect a “God of War-style” expansion that’ll take about 40 hours to complete.

Tom Henderson, a credible leaker who has reported don Battlefield and Call of Duty before, revealed some new bits about Valhalla’s future — and it sure sounds promising. First, there’s a new minor Valhalla DLC coming this December with a possible announcement during The Game Awards in just a few days. It could be new holiday festive activities, additional quests, or something in between.

Henderson also says there’s a massive DLC expansion coming for the title in March 2022. From the sound of it, this upcoming adventure could be Eivor’s largest yet, as the leaker expects it to be around 40 hours long — presumably, with an additional huge map to discover. For comparison, that’s twice the size of each DLC in the game’s Season Pass released this year. Both Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris can be fully cleared out in under 20 hours each, according to HowLongToBeat.com.

But that’s not all to it. The source said the next expansion “will be a ‘God of War-style’ expansion, whatever that means.” Unfortunately, he didn’t delve into further details on this one — but we can make several assumptions.

As earlier revealed by Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting Year Two content support, including officially teased DLC with mythological themes at its core. After that, data miners discovered the potential title in the game’s resources — Dawn of Ragnarok — with the plot revolving around Eivor heading straight to the dwarven realm Svartalfheim. This fits nicely with new hints from Henderson, suggesting you’ll face even more gods, although we still don’t know how exactly Valhalla will borrow from Santa Monica 2018’s hit.

Naturally, all the above is still unconfirmed by Ubisoft, so take it as a rumor for now. In any case, 2022 might end up even more exciting for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla fans than originally expected.
