Lost Ark is great, but it has a few issues. The biggest issue is happening in Lost Ark’s EU Central server where the excessive population is causing long queues and server lag, but another issue is happening with Lost Ark’s premium account benefits.

As a free-to-play game, Lost Ark makes its money from selling premium time in the form of Crystalline Aura. You can get purchase Crystalline Aura using Blue Crystals, which can in turn be purchased for gold (in-game currency) or Royal Crystals (premium currency). Activating your Crystalline Aura provides a host of benefits, including a 50% discount off Ocean Liners, halves the cooldown on your Song of Return, reduces Stronghold crafting and research by 10%, gives two more Bifrost slots, and several other boons.

Crystalline Auras last for 30 days once activated and were often part of Lost Ark’s Founders or Starter packs. However, some players are reporting that their Crystalline Aura is disappearing before 30 days had elapsed.

As noted by PC Gamer, a post on the Lost Ark forums alerted Amazon Games to the problems with Crystalline Auras. The initial post noted Crystalline Auras were gone from that player’s inventory, but others have since replied noting that Crystalline Auras were disappearing even after activating them. Sometimes they were gone after a few days, others had them activate, then deactivate, and then reactivate a day or two later. There really doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the problem except that they appear to be concentrated on players on the EU Central server–the same one that’s suffering long login queues due to overpopulation.

Amazon replied to the initial post nine days ago to inform players that it was looking into the issue, but so far hasn’t been able to fix the problem. The most recent tweet on the issue was from February 20, but nothing since then.

Elsewhere in Lost Ark, North American servers had their own taste of what Europe is suffering yesterday, although Amazon was quick to sort that issue out. One wonders if there’s maybe some geographic favoritism going on here. Or Maybe Amazon is just waiting for the best game of all time to arrive so EU Central’s server population issues resolve themselves.
