Lost Judgment has a wealth of minigames for players to enjoy, with many tied to the School Stories content as most of the School Clubs are linked to a minigame of some kind. Some of these are more difficult than others, and arguably, the Robotics Club robot minigame is one of the hardest to win.

The Robotics Club minigame has your team of three robots battling it out against your opponent’s team on a grid board, collecting Tetris-like shapes to place on the board to try and own the most territory by the end of the match. You’ll have to defend yourself from the other team as you play, and to help with that, you can upgrade your three robots as you progress. Winning all of the matches and completing the Robotics Club will earn you the ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ achievement/trophy.

Go for the Easy Win

While the main aim of the game is to hold the most territory – essentially covering the grid with as many blue squares as you can – there is a far easier way to win. Don’t worry about trying to get the most squares, just aim to invade your opponent’s box. This will lead to an instant win and cut the match short early.

Simply use your shapes to aim straight for the red box and as soon as you have a shape that will “capture” one of their four base squares, you’ve won.

Play Practice Matches To Farm Part Materials

To upgrade your robots so that they are good enough to take on your opponents, you’ll need various materials in order to make parts for them. These materials can be earned from playing practice matches from the Robotics Club menu.

Each practice match drops different kinds of items, you can view which ones each match gives before choosing to take part. More practice matches will unlock as you progress through the Robotics Club, and naturally, their difficulty will increase also.

Stock Up On Materials From The Shop In Hamakita Park

Some materials are easier to get – as long as you have the money to do so. In the northeast of Hamakita Park, there is a General Goods cart that sells lots of materials needed to make robot parts. Not all materials are sold here, but this a good way to stock up on some of the ones you’ll be needing without grinding out quite as many practice matches.

Get AI Chips For Your Teammates

You’ll likely notice that your robot partners that you don’t control – Ex and Machina – can be pretty useless. If they’re not accidentally headbutting you out of the way you need to go, they’re probably not doing much of anything.

It’s important that you get some decent AI chips for your teammates so that they actually help you win – we recommend the AI Supporter and the AI Jammer chips, which ensure they take cooperative action with you or prioritize actions that attack and block enemies, leaving you to collect those shapes.

Build the Perfect Team

You won’t get very far without upgrading your robots, but it’s also important to get the right balance with your team. You have three robots in total, but there is only one that you control. When it comes to upgrading your team, giving them the best batteries is really important as this increases your ‘cost’ limit, letting you equip better parts. Be warned that some bodies have built-in AI and when this is the case, you cannot equip your own choice of AI chip as each robot can only have one AI command.

As the other robots can be a bit hit or miss when helping, you should use Deus – the machine you control – as your speedy little go-to for collecting shapes. Make sure you use the MB bodies made for speed, a speed motor, and use chips the Enhance Move Speed and Enemy Territory Effect Reduction chips to ensure you are moving as quickly as possible at all times.

When it comes to Deus and Ex, we found the XF balanced body works best, prioritizing a balanced motor and using ranged attack chips. We had one robot have the Elephant Canon weapon with the Enhance Blast Wave Radius chip, and the other was armed with the Spider Shot weapon and Enhance Range Attack chip. We also gave both Enhance Move Speed chips and most importantly – Mobile Attack Device chips, which lets them fire at enemies while moving. We also used the AI Supporter and AI Jammer chips on them to ensure they were helping out at all times. With this setup, we easily made it through all of the Robotics Club matches.

Note: For the end match, we transformed out of the tank body straight away so that we could use our usual setup of one speed robot and two balanced robots.
