Marvels Version of ACTUAL Satan May Finally Be Revealed

Marvel’s universe is jam-packed with gods and demons, but Absolute Carnage: Immortal Hulk #1 has revealed what may be the most powerful evil force of them all.

The One-Above-All, Marvel’s almighty celestial being (who may or may not be Jack Kirby himself), finally has its opposite in the aptly-named One-Below-All. This figure apparently has ties to the symbiote god Knull, the promised big bad of Absolute Carnage, and may possibly be connected to every evil in the entire Marvel universe. But just what is this ethereal entity?

First mentioned in Immortal Hulk #5, the One-Below-All resides in the Below-Place, Hell’s darkest, deepest layer that’s kept behind the Green Door. The One-Below-All has deep connections to the Hulk, as it’s responsible for Gamma energy’s mutation effect—Bruce Banner and the One-Below-All have been inextricably tied together since the explosion of the Gamma bomb all those years ago. Having been fully released, the One-Below-All has proved to be one of the Hulk’s most dangerous enemies, pulling off such feats as plunging New Mexico into the Below-Place and possessing characters like the Absorbing Man.

Absolute Carnage: Immortal Hulk reveals the One-Below-All and the symbiote god Knull—a pivotal figure in the ongoing Venom saga—may be tied together (Banner suggests Knull is “some facet of the One-Below-All,” but they may even possibly be one and the same). This prompts Bruce Banner to dive into the chaos of Absolute Carnage, where he makes a critical decision: to bond with one of Spider-Man’s most iconic foes (or allies, depending on the circumstances), the Venom symbiote. Despite protests from his multiple personalities, Bruce Banner is now raging against the symbiote villain as the incredible Venom Hulk.

The Hulk and Canadian superteam Gamma Flight have beaten the One-Below-All before, having taken the fight to the being’s home dimension, eventually besting the force with a powerful blast of energy. Though seemingly defeated, this force could rear its head to haunt the Hulk and others again—and, if truly tied to Knull, it may very well conquer the Marvel universe as we know it. Though One-Below-All’s true nature has yet to be fully revealed, Hulk’s role in Absolute Carnage promises to be crucial to the future of the Marvel universe’s fight against Carnage and Knull, God of the Void. With the addition of the Venom symbiote, Bruce Banner has another voice in his head. There’s only two issues of Absolute Carnage left, but rest assured, having Hulk in the mix means there’s going to be plenty of good old-fashioned smashing to look forward to:
