Massive Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Leak Reveals Everything

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch the Galaxy S21 FE early next year, but weeks ahead of its official launch, the entire product brochure of its next ‘Fan Edition’ phone has leaked online with detailed specifications and images in tow. The saga of the Galaxy S21 FE has been a pretty confusing one so far, with rumors of delay and cancellation surfacing online on multiple occasions.

At the end of September, the latest canceling report came through suggesting Samsung’s foldables were in too high of a demand and that the company wanted to focus its resources on those phones instead. Older reports also claimed that the ongoing supply chain woes might compel Samsung to pull the plug on its budget flagship phone. However, more recently it has been suggested that the project is back on track with a release happening soon.

The folks over at CoinBRS got their hands on what looks like the official product brochure for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, revealing a familiar design and its key specifications. The phone looks almost identical to the vanilla Galaxy S21, save for the dual-tone finish on the camera island seen on Samsung’s flagship. Coming to the specifications, the Galaxy S21 FE will reportedly offer a 6.4-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, while a center-aligned hole-punch houses the selfie camera.

The Samsung Leak Tradition Continues

Samsung will reportedly offer the phone in two chip flavors — a Qualcomm variant with the Snapdragon 888 SoC destined for the US market while the other rocks the company’s in-house Exynos 2100 chip. Interestingly, the Tensor chip fitted inside the Pixel 6 is heavily inspired by the Exynos 2100, which means the Galaxy S21 FE’s performance will likely fall somewhat in line with Google’s offering. The Pixel 6 is priced rather competitively at $599, and will most likely find a solid rival in the Galaxy S21 FE given Samsung’s aggressive pricing strategy for its Fan Edition phones. The report also mentions two memory configurations with 6GB and 12GB of RAM, which is a stark difference and a serious step up from the previous model, and that could be reflected in the price as well.

The triple-lens array on the back includes a 64-megapixel primary camera, sitting alongside an ultra-wide snapper and a depth sensor. Selfies are handled by a 32-megapixel front camera. A 4,500 mAh capacity battery with support for 15W fast charging keeps the lights on, while Android 11 manages the software side of things. The phone will reportedly be available in Black, Cream, Lavender, and White trims, and 5G support is included as it was with its well-received predecessor. While the latest leak doesn’t provide any details on the phone’s asking price, Samsung is likely to keep the price within the $600-$800 bracket to ensure it competes with the Google Pixel 6 and the iPhone 13.
