Medieval Dynasty is a new addition to the survival genre, and as the name implies, it brings a medieval twist. In this game, you will need to survive each year, make your own village, and have an heir to pass down your legacy. As with any survival game, crafting will be very important.
Crafting is a complex task; you are able to craft items ranging from a small knife to a large barn. Additionally, there are several workstations that can be built for crafting new items. In this guide, we are going to go over everything you need to know about crafting. First, let’s take a look at basic items that can quickly be crafted.
Crafting Basic Items
These are items that you can craft from your inventory, without any additional tools. In general, the recipes are fairly simple, requiring only sticks, stones, or logs. Below, you can find every basic crafting item.
- Spear
- Torch
- Firewood
- Hoe
- Simple Bag
- Stone Axe
- Hammer
- Stone Knife
These tools are essential to getting started in the valley, so it’s important to make one of each to help you get started.
To craft a basic item, you will need to open the crafting menu by pressing ‘Q’. Once you do this, a round menu will appear, with several crafting categories. On the bottom, righthand side of the circle, you will see a section that says handcrafting. Clicking on this will open the panel with the items listed above, as well as the required materials to build each one.
If you do not have enough materials to craft, the icon for the object will appear greyed out, with an icon of a red bag next to it.
Crafting Buildings And Decorations
In addition to crafting tools and weapons from the basic crafting menu, you will be able to craft buildings and decorations. From the crafting menu that opens when you press ‘Q’, you will see other categories available. Below, you can find every crafting category, as well as what types of buildings and items it includes.

To craft buildings, fences, and gates, you will need a hammer. This is a handcrafted item made from one log and ten sticks. From the crafting menu, select the building of your choice. For this example, we are going to talk about the Simple Small House. This building will require six logs to place.
With enough material in your inventory, select it from the menu and place it in your desired location. After placing, you will notice that you only have the frame for the house complete. This is where the hammer comes in handy. Equip the hammer and approach the frame of the house; you will notice that an outline of the missing pieces will appear. To ‘fill in’ these sections, you will need to hit them with your hammer while holding enough materials. Additionally, you can change the material of the walls, windows, roof, and door. Pressing ‘E’ will display all the possible options that you can select from.
If you are happy with the materials of the house, it’s time to get to work. Gather materials, approach a section of the house and hit it with the hammer. Each hit will consume one material. For example, the basic thatch roof of the Simple Small House will require one log and eight straw. If you have enough materials, you will hit the roof panel nine times. On the ninth hit, the roof will be built.
This process will need to be repeated for every section of the building until it is complete. If you don’t have materials to complete the entire building, it’s okay. You can take a break to gather materials, and then return later.
Gates and fences also need to be hit with a hammer, but they take fewer materials. From the menu, you can drag the area where you want the fence to be. The placement process does not take any materials, but afterward, you will need to use your hammer to build it.
Designated Crafting Spaces
Lastly, let’s go over designated crafting spaces. These are areas within buildings to craft specific items. Above, we talked about how to craft a building, as well as the available categories to choose from.
For example, from the crafting menu, you can find the hunting building section; clicking on this will display several types of buildings. At the beginning of the game, many of these buildings will have a blue lock icon next to it. This means that you do not have enough technology points to build it. Technology points can be gained by doing the related activity. For example, to unlock more hunting-related structures, you will need to hunt and gain experience.
Building these service buildings works exactly like the house we built above. Use the crafting menu to place it, and then use a hammer to complete the structure.
Inside the new building, you can find a chest, decorations, and a crafting table. At the crafting table, you will be able to craft items related to the building. For example, you will be able to craft bows and arrows from the table inside the Hunting Lodge.
These craftable materials may also be locked. To unlock, them you simply need to buy the recipe. This can be done from the technology screen, as well as from the crafting menu itself. To unlock recipes like this, you will need to pay coins. Fortunately, many crafting recipes do not require too much money.
Now, you should know the basics of crafting. Once you get the hang of it, you will be crafting tools and placing buildings all over the valley!
