Mewtwo Makes An Appearance In New Pokémon Lets Go Trailer

The latest Pokémon: Let’s Go trailer features a rotating cast of classic characters and one ultra-powerful psychic type that we all remember saving our Master Balls for.

We’re a month away from the release of the first ever Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch. Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee are set to drop November 16th for an entirely new generation of Pokémon fans, and maybe even for a few nostalgic parents who want to relive their old Pokémon Red & Blue days with some modern updates.

The latest Pokémon: Let’s Go trailer reveals quite a few classic characters will make a return, including gym trainers Misty, Brock, and Lt. Surge. Jesse and James of Team Rocket fame also make an appearance with the almost certain goal of trying to steal your Pokémon.

And it looks like there will be a ton of Pokémon to capture on your journey, with first-gen favorites such as Staryu, Pidgeot, Ratticate, Lapras, Dragonite, and more. There are also some Alolan forms in the game, including the ice-type Alolan Sandslash as well as the grass/dragon-type Exeggutor.

But everyone knows that the legendary types are what really get kids excited. Have no fear, since the legendary trio of birds will once again provide trainers with a climactic fight scene at the bottom of a cave (or a power plant, depending on which one). That’s Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos for those who haven’t played the original Pokémon Red & Blue.

Easily the scariest and most difficult to capture Pokémon was Mewtwo. This psychic-type had unmatched offensive and defensive abilities that made him virtually impossible to beat in a fair fight. That’s why most of us reserved our Master Ball just for Mewtwo.

There’s no word on whether or not the Master Ball returns in Pokémon: Let’s Go, but Mewtwo certainly shows up in the latest trailer. Let’s hope the Master Ball does too, otherwise, this latest entry into the Pokémon franchise might be more difficult than the first one.

Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee & Pikachu drops November 16th along with the new Poké Ball Plus accessory.
