A special event is just around the corner for Minecraft Dungeons adventurers, as the game’s first anniversary approaches. Fans of the Minecraft-inspired dungeon crawler will be able to log on during the Anniversary Event and complete special seasonal trials to celebrate Minecraft Dungeon’s 1-year milestone. The completion of these challenges will earn players unique, anniversary-themed prizes, including a special cape.
Minecraft Dungeons released May 26th, 2020. Unlike the original Minecraft title filled with open-world exploration and self-guided gameplay, Minecraft Dungeons takes players on challenging, narrative-driven dungeon crawls based on the elements of the Minecraft world. Since its release, four DLC expansion packs have been added to Minecraft Dungeons, introducing new storylines, gameplay, and challenges. The game has also implemented seasonal events for Halloween, the holiday season, and now the Anniversary Event happening at the end of the month.
To participate in the Minecraft Dungeons anniversary event, players will need to sign on between May 26th and June 8th and complete the seasonal trials. These tasks are like Minecraft Dungeons’ daily trials but appear in the Mission Selection Map with a purple marker. The tasks can be completed at any time during the course of the event and can be finished at the player’s own personal speed. Currently, there hasn’t been any news on what these anniversary-related seasonal trials will include, but hopefully, more information will be released soon.
Minecraft Dungeons’ Anniversary Event Will Include A Themed Cape
Like past seasonal events in Minecraft Dungeons, the Anniversary Event will offer a handful of event-exclusive rewards for players to collect. Past rewards have included swords, bows, and armor following the theme for the events. According to Minecraft, the Anniversary Event will include a special set of armor and a cape. It is also possible the prizes for the event will be birthday cake-themed, as hinted in the information provided in the news post.
The Anniversary Event isn’t the only exciting content to look forward to in Minecraft Dungeons, as the newest DLC pack has been announced for later this month. The pack will introduce content from the popular Dreamworks movie series How To Train Your Dragon. While it hasn’t been confirmed what exactly the How To Train Your Dragon DLC will introduce, it is possible fans might be able to ride a dragon while sporting the Anniversary Event armor and cape, allowing them to fly through new Minecraft Dungeons challenges in style.
