My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Mina Ashido from My Hero Academia is arguably one of the happiest and most confident characters you’ll find. She’s best known for her iconic and bright pink coloring, but that isn’t the only thing that makes her stand out.

However, it might be the reason she comes up in the context of Pokémon more often than not. With that in mind, here are five Pokémon that Mina could beat, and five who would almost certainly win against her in a battle.

10 She’d Beat: Tangrowth

It should probably go without saying that any Pokémon weak to acid/poison will surely be weak to any attack that Mina Ashido could put out. Unfortunately for Tangrowth, that puts them on the list. They are a grass-type Pokémon.

What does that mean? It means they’re weak to all things poison – including acid. Their offensive moves would be unlikely to get through to Mina, and their defense likewise wouldn’t stand a chance.

9 She’d Lose To: Steelix

On the opposite side of that spectrum are the Pokémon that are stronger against poison attacks including acid. Which is a shame for Mina if she is fighting a Steelix.

Steelix has plenty of attacks that would give Mina a run for her money, including Iron Tail and Earthquake. While her acid might give her some defense, it’s unlikely she’d last in any long match against this Pokémon.

8 She’d Beat: Serperior

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Serperior is another Grass-type Pokémon that simply wouldn’t stand a chance against Mina Ashido. They have attacks like Vine Whip and Grass Knot, but that won’t do them a lot of good against somebody with an acid shield.

Additionally, the odds are not in Serperior’s favor when it comes to defense. Mina’s acid would eat right through moves such as Grass Knot. Heck, she’d probably have a blast fighting a Pokémon such as this one.

7 She’d Lose To: Mewtwo

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Mewtwo is one Pokémon that Mina Ashido wouldn’t stand a chance against. Realistically, Mina is the type of character that would be vulnerable to all psychic attacks. That makes for a rather large list of enemies she can’t defeat.

Mewtwo’s attacks would make it more difficult for Mina to counterattack, not to mention defend herself. It would not take long before she ends up losing in this fight.

6 She’d Beat: Whimsicott

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

On the bright side, Mina Ashido would almost certainly win against Whimsicott. This little Pokémon may have charm, but it wouldn’t stand a chance against Mina’s charm. Her acid would eat right through this cute little guy.

Fans always know that Mina would be strong against Grass-type Pokémon, even if they have another trait to boast as well. That puts Whimsicott directly on her list of Pokémon she could easily defeat.

5 She’d Lose To: Charizard

Know who Mina couldn’t beat? Charizard. There’s no doubt that this Pokémon would tear through all of Mina’s defenses in short order. Leaving her with limited options; run or attack. Either would be a risk for her.

Realistically, Mina Ashido would lose to all of the evolutions on this path. Including Charmander and Charmeleon. We haven’t seen her effectively fight anybody wielding fire yet – though Bakugo would probably be willing to let her practice against him.

4 She’d Beat: Clefable

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Next up on the list of Pokémon Mina Ashido could defeat; Clefable. Little Clefable (well, not so little, really) is vulnerable to all poison, and that means acid as well. This list has already established how bad that will be for Clefable. On the bright side, it would be good for Mina.

Clefable could probably get in a few good hits against Mina, but ultimately Mina would outlast the Pokémon and take home the win.

3 She’d Lose To: Golem

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

While Mina Ashido could take on many Pokémon out there, it’s unlikely that she would be victorious against Golem. For one thing, they’re persistent to poison attacks. For another, their attacks are brutal and can be at such a large scale as to make defense difficult for someone like Mina.

This match would certainly be an interesting one to watch. Mina would likely not win the fight, but she would make Golem have to earn that win.

2 She’d Beat: Leafeon

My Hero Academia 5 Pokémon Mina Ashido Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Leafeon is the last Pokémon on this list that Mina Ashido would win against in a fight. As with many other Grass-type Pokémon, Leafeon is vulnerable to poison. That would make them automatically weaker against Mina’s acid attacks.

It would also make all forms of attack against Mina more difficult, as she could easily mitigate them all with her acid shielding. This would not be a pretty fight – though Mina would probably have mercy on Leafeon.

1 She’d Lose To: Alakazam

Last, but certainly not least, there’s Alakazam. This Pokémon would likely mop the floor with Mina. This Psychic-type Pokémon would have no problems dealing with anything Mina could dish out.

Alakazam could create attacks that Mina wouldn’t have any way of defending against. It’s not like she’s had a whole lot of practice against psychics. Unless you count Hitoshi Shinso, and even then he hasn’t really given any of Class 1A all that much practice.
