Netflix has dropped several new trailers for the upcoming Witcher season two, at the same time confirming that the show is getting season three. The next season of the successful adaptation will premiere on December 17 and will consist of eight episodes.

The new Witcher-y footage was presented during the recent Tudum fan event, dedicated to some of the most anticipated projects from Netflix airing in the next few months. Fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s iconic saga got a detailed look at how season two is shaping up and its both new and familiar characters.

Firstly, we got Road to Season 2 trailer, featuring shots from the upcoming episodes as well as a quick recap of the previous events. Many familiar faces, such as Yennefer, Jaskier, and Triss made their appearance, while the viewers got a chance to see Kaer Morhen with lots of witchers around, wise Vesemir among them. As you may expect, Ciri will start her training as a witcher in season two and will build her relationships with new friends.

Unsurprisingly, at the center of the next season will be Geralt and Ciri, sharing a special bond with each other. The heroes got their own uncut clip featuring shots of Geralt protecting young Cirilla from vampire bruxa. Sadly, we never got to see the actual fight in that episode, yet the White Wolf seems quite anxious about it.

Finally, another clip showed off Geralt talking to his old friend Nivellen played by Kristofer Hivju (known as Tormund Giantsbane from Game of Thrones). Nivellen is a cursed man who looks like…well, like that thing you see below. While in the books his “monstrous” nature was used to scare children, Geralt never consider him a monster, as he is clearly intelligent and able to touch silver without any ill effects.

All eight episodes of The Witcher season two, featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt, Anya Chalotra as Yen, and Freya Allan as Ciri, will launch on December 17. Earlier Netflix officially confirmed that The Witcher season three is happening, although no release date was given.
