Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel, titled To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, casts Jordan Fisher as John Ambrose McClaren as filming on the movie gets underway. Last summer, Netflix debuted their adaptation of Jenny Han’s 2014 novel, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before became a smash hit for the streaming service. The film follows teenager Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor) whose love letters to her past crushes get sent out. In an attempt to avoid one particular letter recipient – her older sister Margot’s (Janel Parrish) ex-boyfriend Josh (Israel Broussard) – Lara Jean starts a fake relationship with another boy to receive a letter: Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo).

When it premiered, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before received positive reviews, and became a veritable social media phenomenon. But fans of Han’s original novel were quick to wonder whether Netflix would adapt the other two books following Lara Jean. The To All the Boys mid-credits scene teased the arrival of John Ambrose McClaren, another boy to receive one of Lara Jean’s letters – and one that plays a major role in the book sequel, 2015’s P.S. I Still Love You. In December 2018, Netflix officially announced the To All the Boys sequel and now John Ambrose officially joins the production as filming starts.

On Twitter, actor Jordan Fisher posted a video of Condor confirming he’s joined the cast of To All the Boys 2 as John Ambrose McClaren. Fisher is perhaps most well known for his roles in live TV musicals Grease Live! and Rent: Live, though he’s also appeared in Disney Channel originals like Teen Beach Movie and Liv and Maddie. He’s also worked with Netflix before, having voiced Seahawk on the streamer’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power animated series. Now he joins the highly anticipated To All the Boys sequel in a major role. See the announcement video below.

Further, the Twitter for To All the Boys confirmed filming started earlier today with a photo that reveals the title of the sequel is To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You – at least, for the time being. It’s unclear if that’s the final official title of the sequel, since it may be a working title. Check out the photo below.

As fans of Han’s books know, John Ambrose comes back into Lara Jean’s life in P.S. I Still Love You thanks to the love letter he received. The two teenagers become close at the same time as Lara Jean’s relationship with Peter becomes strained because of his continued friendship with his ex, Gen (Emilija Baranac). This new love triangle was teased in the To All the Boys mid-credits scene, which introduced John Ambrose. Of course, Fisher did not play John Ambrose in that particular scene, and the sequel instead recast the role.

Given Fisher’s experience, he’s undoubtedly talented and charming enough to hold his own alongside Condor and Centineo. Thanks to the video introducing Fisher to the fans, they have an idea of who will be taking on the role. But, fans won’t know exactly what to expect from To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You until a trailer is released – or more videos from the set are released.
