Earlier today, developer FromSoftware unveiled new footage from Elden Ring, which showcases a sprawling and gorgeous vista. The storied Japanese studio announced the open-world role-playing title during E3 2019, promising an experience whose world was crafted by Hidetaka Miyazaki and novelist George R.R. Martin. FromSoftware developers previously explained the Game of Thrones author played an integral part in developing the lore and core tenets of Elden Ring’s universe.

Little by little, FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment continue to peel back the curtain on what said universe involves. While exploring the Lands Between, players can expect to stumble across all manner of monsters, for instance, including hulking beasts who will make navigating the map quite challenging. Some people were lucky enough to figure out as much for themselves while exploring the Closed Network Test that went live a couple of weeks ago. By breaking through the boundaries of Elden Ring’s recent network test, a few users even came face-to-face with previously unseen bosses and horrific bear creatures. Now it’s time for FromSoftware to showcase something else on its own terms.

Today, November 30, Elden Ring’s official Twitter page uploaded an all-new 15-second gameplay clip. No combat appears in the footage; in fact, the video is quite tranquil, courtesy of the sights and sounds. Stunning music plays while the camera pulls back from an armored character who sits cross-legged on a stone platform near a tree stripped of leaves. The fall season has clearly taken root in this part of Elden Ring’s open-world space, further evidenced by the orange-leaved trees that blanket the forest floor shown as the camera pans to the right. These types of teases from Elden Ring’s social media pages are becoming more and more common as time goes on. In fact, FromSoftware shared cursory details about the five playable character classes in a Twitter post several weeks ago, letting fans get a good look at 4K models of each class prior to the Closed Network Test’s arrival.

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco initially intended to release the role-playing title in late January of next year; however, a need for extra polish resulted in the release being pushed by a little over a month. Players can, thus, plan on exploring the Lands Between in late February.
