Jess is a pretty understanding person, but she also thinks she knows what is best. This is especially the case when she first dates Nick, and cannot handle how he deals with his finances, and well, all of his responsibilities.

While Jess is probably right, she still definitely sticks her nose where it doesn’t belong. She likes to micromanage and organizes things so much that the rest of the gang might actually have less fun.

It’s never a bad thing to be sensitive and to have emotions, but Jessica’s can definitely get the best of her. Whether it’s love, anger, or sadness, everyone within any proximity to Jess is bound to feel her intense emotions.

While this also makes her an empathetic and understanding person, all of her friends and family definitely better be prepared for some waterworks, a mental breakdown, or a tantrum. This fiery character feels it all.

For someone that focuses a lot on her feelings, she usually lets them get super messy. From not dating Robby to dating Nick to flying to England to becoming a principal, she’s definitely a bit chaotic.

It seems weird that this awkward and quirky character can be charming, but it’s totally true. She has a magnetic personality that everyone, fans and characters alike, can’t help but love.

No matter what Jessica Day does, it’s impossible to hate her. She does everything out of love, and her quirks and humor make her totally adorable – and definitely charming.

If there’s one thing that fans can agree is totally frustrating and annoying about Jess, is that she’s unwilling to be bold and take risks. She is always herself, but she is afraid to put herself out on a limb when failure is an option.

One thing that every other character on this series – and probably every fan – can learn from Jess is definitely her authenticity. She wants everyone to like her, but she isn’t willing to change anything about who she is to please anyone.

Her iconic speech to Nick’s lawyer girlfriend sums this up wonderfully, and she can rock polka dots, swerve for birds, and touch glitter all she wants – because she’s totally true to herself. This makes her totally likable and is a super redeeming quality.
