It was recently revealed that over 16 million copies of Pokemon Sword and Shield have shipped since the games released back in November of last year. Indeed, an absolutely astounding number of players have already trekked through the games’ Galar region, and fans will soon be able to show their love for the titles with new Switch controllers that have designs inspired by the three Pokemon Sword and Shield starters.

These new Pokemon Sword and Shield Switch controllers are manufactured by Power A, and all three will release through Amazon on February 14, 2020. Players that are interested in bringing one or more of these controllers home do not need to wait until then to order them, though, as they are already available for pre-purchase at a cost of $50.

This price point makes the Pokemon Sword and Shield controllers a nice alternative to the standard, and slightly more expensive, Switch Pro Controller. However, it is worth mentioning that these controllers from Power A do require AA batteries and do not have vibration or Amiibo support. They do have “two advanced gaming buttons” on the back, though, which may be of interest to players that are looking for a controller with more programmable inputs.

That said, what most fans will be interested in is how the Pokemon Sword and Shield starters are incorporated into the designs of these Switch controllers, and that can be seen in the pictures below. As many players will expect, the Grookey controller is green, the Scorbunny controller is red, and the Sobble controller is blue, and all three feature an image of their particular Pokemon along the left side.

For players that are hunting for some themed Switch accessories but do not find these Pokemon Sword and Shield controllers particularly desirable, Nintendo has also recently revealed an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch bundle. This bundle features an Animal Crossing-branded dock and Switch, as well as some beautiful, pastel Joy Cons, and it will be available on March 13. While this bundle is certainly more of an investment than the controllers shown here, it is a great opportunity for fans to take home a truly special Switch design.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
