As well as 17 different types of Pokemon, the Sands (Day) course in New Pokemon Snap features ten photo requests for players to find and fulfill. Compared to some of the game’s other courses, they’re actually fairly simple ones and many can be completed without players having to reach research level 3. That said, Illumina Orbs will be required for most of them, so a visit to the Sands (Night) course is a must for those hoping to complete all ten.

One of the things that makes these requests so simple to fulfill is that the majority of them take place in the opening two sections of the course and also require very little input from players. This allows players to quickly restart their run in the event that they miss the shot that they need, although this is unlikely to happen too often given how generous most of the timing windows are when compared to some of the other LenTalk requests in New Pokemon Snap.

Striking a Pose with Its Tail Request Guide

To complete the Striking a Pose with Its Tail request for Todd, players will first need to reach research level 2 and unlock the green Illumina Orbs by photographing the glowing Crystabloom in the Sands (Night) Course. Once that’s taken care of, they’ll be able to use the orbs to illuminate the three Crystabloom near the start of the course and this will reveal the source of the sandstorm, Flygon.

Rather than focusing on the mystic Pokemon, however, players should instead look for the Skorupi that comes out of the ground in the spot where the sandstorm was. A few moments later, a Mandibuzz will drop another one into the vicinity and it’s at this point that players should hit them with Illumina Orbs. After doing so, one or both of them will raise themselves up onto their tail and it’s this photo that’s needed to fulfill the request.

The Flying Cacnea Request Guide

There are a few sandstorms in the Sands (Day) course, but the one that players need to focus on for The Flying Cancnea request is one over to their left after they spawn in. From research level 2 onward, there’ll be a Cacnea resting in the sand not too far from it and players will need to keep a close eye on the little guy throughout the course’s opening stages.

After a few moments, the sandstorm will start to shift its trajectory and the Cacnea will get sucked in. It won’t be up there for too long, so players will only have about a second to snap a picture of it while it’s still in the air. Assuming they’re able though, handing in the photo at the end of the run will allow them to complete Rita’s request. If they miss the action, they can simply restart the run and have another crack at it.

Where Did the Fluffruit Go? Request Guide

New Pokemon Snap Every Request In Sweltering Sands (Day) & How To Complete Them

The Where Did the Fluffruit Go? request is probably the most difficult in the Sands (Day) course; not because it requires complicated button inputs or anything like that, but instead because getting a decent photo of the interaction needed is almost impossible due to the layout of the course. After a few attempts though, players should be able to get what they need.

First, they’ll have to illuminate the three Crystablooms in the starting area so that Flygon shows up and then quickly hit it with a few Fluffruit until it grabs one of them and flies away. Next, they’ll need to make their way to the final area with the craters and wait for Flygon to approach. It will swoop down and give the Fluffruit to the two Trapinch in the nearest crater and players will need a shot of this exact moment. Flygon should be the subject, but at least one of the Trapinch must also be visible for the photo to count.

Munching Mandibuzz Request Guide

Once players reach research level 3, they’ll be able to find a walking Mandibuzz over to the right of the oasis area. It doesn’t hang around for too long though and so, if already unlocked, it can help to use the NEO-ONE’s turbo function to get there faster. It is just about possible to complete the Munching Mandibuzz request while traveling at the default speed if needed though.

After locating the Mandibuzz, players will need to launch a Fluffruit as close to it as possible without hitting it. If they’re successful, the Mandibuzz will start eating and players can snap a three star photo of it doing so to complete the request. If players want a four star photo, they’ll need to head to the same area and then throw some Fluffruit into the pile of coconuts on the ground. A Mandibuzz will fly down and grab one, although this photo can’t be used to complete the request.

A Finicky Flame Request Guide

Usually, throwing a Fluffruit over to Torchic will lead to it lightly toasting the fruit before it eats it. For the A Finicky Flame request, however, players will need to get it to burn the Fluffruit to a crisp. To achieve this though, they’ll first need to play through the Sands (Night) course and photograph the glowing Crystabloom to unlock green Illumina Orbs.

With orbs in hand, players can now return to Sands (Day) and hit Torchic with an Illumina Orb. Immediately after doing so, they should throw it a Flufruit and, providing it’s still glowing green, the Pokemon will let out a huge jet of flames. Players will need to get a photo of the fire itself and then hand it in to Professor Mirror in order to complete Phil’s request.

Sprinting in Surprise Request Guide

The Sprinting in Surprise request can be completed at research level 1, although players will first need to finish a run of the course and snap a photo of the Heliolisk that’s sleeping in the center of the oasis area so that the request appears. After that, they should return to the same spot and start throwing Fluffruit into the water so that a Magikarp leaps out.

The exact spot that they need to aim for is around where the Kangaskhan can be found in Sands (Night), or, for those who haven’t gotten that far yet, the back left area of the pool if players are looking at it from the point where they enter the oasis area from the big sand dune. After it jumps out, Magikarp will splash the sleeping Heliolisk which will startle it and cause it to run across the water’s surface. Players will need to get a shot of this to complete Rita’s request.

Lycanroc’s Reply Request Guide

While it is possible to complete the Lycanroc’s Reply request from the default route, it’s far easier to take the alternate route by using scan at the very beginning of the oasis area. Before that though, players should focus their camera on Lycanroc as they’re coming down the big sand dune and repeatedly use the scan function to stop the Pokemon from jumping down to ground level.

If done correctly, Lycanroc will start to make its way along the top of the rocks until it reaches a Crystabloom. Players will need to hit this Crystabloom with an Illumina Orb and should then continue to use scan if it looks like Lycanroc has stopped moving completely. Eventually though, it will reach the edge of the rocky overhang and let out two long howls, one of which will need to be captured on camera to fulfill Professor Mirror’s request.

Oasis Buddies Request Guide

Players will need to snap a photo of Torchic standing on Hippowdon’s head to complete the Oasis Buddies request, which turns out to be surprisingly simple to set up. Once players have unlocked the green Illumina Orbs, they’ll need to make their way to the oasis area and then look for the Torchic standing near a Hippowdon that’s basking in the water.

To elicit the required interaction, they should first throw an Illumina Orb at Torchic and then toss another one at Hippowdon. This will cause Torchic to run over to the water’s edge, at which point immediately hitting it with another Illumina Orb will make it hop onto the gentle giant’s head. Hippowdon needs to be the subject of the photo for the request to count.

Totally Cool Tyranitar Request Guide

Once players have reached research level 2, they’ll be able to take an alternate route by using scan as they approach the oasis area. Shortly after they change course, a Lycanroc will jump down to ground level on their right and slowly start making its way over to a sleeping Tyranitar. It should do this naturally, but it can sometimes help to guide it over there with a Fluffruit or two.

Once it has gotten close enough, it will sprint over to the sleeping giant and a short conflict ensues. Lycanroc will eventually run and hide behind a nearby rock and players will need to get Tyranitar to destroy it to complete the Totally Cool Tyranitar request. To do so, all they’ll need to do is throw an Illumina Orb at Tyranitar immediately after Lycancroc has fled and it will promptly destroy the rock with a single blow. It happens pretty quickly, although the timing window for the shot is surprisingly lenient.

Onix’s Mighty Leap Request Guide

Before players can tackle the Onix’s Mighty Leap request, they’ll first need to unlock the course’s alternate route. This means reaching at least research level 2 in both the day and nighttime versions of Sweltering Sands. After that, they’ll be able to perform a scan at the bottom of the first big sand dune to take the alternate route out towards the Onix area from the Sands (Night) course.

After leaving the oasis area, players will fall down another steep sand dune and will need to turn around and throw Fluffruit at the two Mandibuzz (which will now be above them to their left) as soon as they do. After the birds fly away, players should turn back around and hit the Mandibuzz that’s perched on the rock to their left with another Fluffruit. If all three are hit, they’ll begin flying together as players are about to exit the course. If players turn around once more, they should see an Onix jump high into the sky in an attempt to get them.
