Many are looking forward to the release of New Pokemon Snap for a relaxing adventure into the natural habitats of various Pokemon. A new trailer appealing to this peaceful mindset has been released that shows off the calm noises players will be hearing on their journeys.

This New Pokemon Snap trailer shows footage from a woodland area already seen in previous trailers, but no commentary or editing cuts. Instead, players can hear the natural sounds of their surroundings as well as the noises made by the various Pokemon in the area.

The footage shows the player slowly traveling through this area with plenty of Pokemon in view. Interesting sights include a sleeping Dodrio with two of its heads sleeping while another stays awake and on guard. Viewers can also see Pokemon such as Pichu, Grookey, and Bidoof.

With the focus being on the audio, listeners may notice that the sounds made by the Pokemon aren’t the repeating of their names from the Pokemon anime or their actual in-game cries. Instead, the noises are more natural and animal-like. This is especially evident by the more real bird-like chirping that can be heard. With this information, it is very interesting to wonder about many of the other Pokemon will sound like in the released game, especially the legendary Pokemon.

No new Pokemon have been seen in this footage, but this is likely due to New Pokemon Snap’s quickly approaching release date. After its release, though, players will be able to have a list of every Pokemon that can be found in the game. For those curious, however, the full list of Pokemon that can be seen in this trailer are:

  • Vivillion
  • Bouffalant
  • Pichu
  • Grookey
  • Dodrio
  • Bidoof
  • Tangrowth
  • Wurmple
  • Emolga

A curious part of this trailer is in how there is no music at all. Its most likely that there will be music in the released game, but this trailer may indicate that there will be an option to turn it off in order to enjoy the more natural sounds in the various areas. This could even lead to some secrets that can only be heard if players don’t have the background music on. Of course, this is just speculation with there being no solid evidence of this until the full title is released.

All of these recent trailers and snippets of gameplay footage are increasing the community’s excitement for New Pokemon Snap. Hopefully this excitement will be rewarded with a great experience upon its release.

Pokemon Snap launches on April 30 for Nintendo Switch.
