New Pokémon Sword & Shield Trailer Seemingly Confirms Old Leak

A new trailer for Pokémon Sword & Shield was recently uploaded to The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel and it reveals new details about the games, including unique Dynamax transformations for Galar region Pokémon (which is known as Gigantamaxing) and the return of version-exclusive Gym Leaders.

The information revealed in the latest trailer for Pokémon Sword & Shield is important for another reason, as it seemingly confirms a leak uploaded to 4chan back in May (which has been archived on Resetera.)

The leak was uploaded to 4chan on May 24 by an anonymous user. The leak mentions the concept of Gigantamaxing and how it alters the appearance of the Pokémon. The examples given are from Kanto Pokémon, which include Meowth becoming longer and Pikachu resembling his original design from Pokémon Red & Blue. The only Pokémon confirmed to be able to perform the Gigantamax transformation so far have all come from the Galar region, but it’s possible that Game Freak is holding back the reveals of the Gigantamax versions of the classic Pokémon for a later trailer.
