Aside from a short trailer and a few glimpses at gameplay, not much is known about the upcoming PS5 title, Godfall. Now, we at least get a chance to take a detailed look at each of the game’s playable heroes thanks to the release of a few Godfall wallpapers .
We know that Godfall is a fantasy RPG with a focus on loot and melee combat, and it looks to be a bit inspired by the likes of Dark Souls and Destiny. We also know that the title will be one of the first to come to the PS5, and it certainly looks to have graphics worthy of the next generation. Other than that, there’s not a great deal of information.
Now, we can at least get a more detailed idea of what the game’s characters will looks like, and well, they look pretty cool. Alongside the lion-inspired mascot hero, we’re also given a closer look at a white knight looking character, as well as another hero with Egyptian-inspired armor.
The first unnamed hero rocks a lion mask with bronze colored armor and a golden detail. His shoulder pads also resemble the face of a lion, and a long red and black cloak drapes from his back. Similar to the other two characters, this one’s armor has a bit of Warcraft inspiration to it, with a futuristic Destiny twist.
The second hero, whose look seems to take on an Egyptian theme, also seems reminiscent of the Judgement armor set from World of Warcraft. It’s hard to tell from beyond the armor, but it also appears as if this character will be a female. If we had to guess, she looks like her powers might be more magic-based than the other two.
Finally, the “white knight” of the three also looks like it could be a Paladin in World of Warcraft. His blue eyes and mask definitely bring to mind the Lich King, and his large white gauntlets looks like they pack a hell of a punch.
Godfall looks like a gorgeous game with a bunch of potential, but whether or not it plays as cleanly as it looks is yet to be seen. The game is slated to be one of the PS5’s earlier titles, so expect to see it some time near the holiday season.
