Microsoft has announced its selection of Games With Gold titles for November 2019 and the options are…interesting. There’s no real theme going on here with four seemingly disconnected genres getting representation. There’s something for mystery fans, sci-fi fans, racing fans, and survival fans. You can’t blame Microsoft for trying to cater to multiple crowds, at least.

On the Xbox One side, players will receive both Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter and The Final Station. Sherlock Holmes features (as you would guess) the titular character on another case to solve the mystery surrounding his adopted daughter. Choices players make will affect the conclusion of the game with various endings possible.

The Final Station is a little harder to explain. Combining multiple genres together, the game plays primarily like a train simulator. Players will be thrust into a post-apocalyptic world as the engineer of a train. The main goal will be to ferry your passengers away from various infected creatures while occasionally making stops to gather supplies. It’s basically Rust combined with Oregon Trail…sort of.

For Xbox 360 players, the first game up for grabs is the 2002 sci-fi flight sim Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter. A sequel to the rather successful PS2 game Star Wars: Starfighter, this overlooked gem puts players in the role of a republic starfighter in the period shortly before Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Released as a tie-in for said film, it’s actually a pretty solid little game with a decently lengthy campaign. Well worth it for anyone looking to take a trip down memory lane.

Lastly, Joy Ride Turbo rounds out the list for last-generation players. Mostly a spin-off of the Kinect racer Kinect Joy Ride, this game drops the motion peripheral requirement and simplifies things to work on a gamepad. It’s not all that fondly regarded and will likely occupy you for a couple of hours before you move on to other games.

Players will be able to grab these titles on the following dates:

Xbox One

  • Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter – November 1 to November 30
  • The Final Station – November 16 to December 15

Xbox 360

  • Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter – November 1 – November 15
  • Joy Ride Turbo – November 16 to November 30
