The Pokémon franchise has long been one of the most profitable pieces of media on the planet, and fans can now toss even more of their money at The Pokémon Company by purchasing a face mask with one of their favorite Pokémon printed on it. Since masks have become common place all around the world this year many people have tried to find ways to make more stylish or fit into the rest of their outfit, so why not wear one with a Pokémon on it?

The Pokémon Company has done extremely well for itself over the years with the massive amounts of merchandise it makes available for Pokémon. Fans of the series are able to acquire stuffed animals, trading cards, figurines, blankets, clothes – if one can think it, there’s Pokémon merch of it. There are some particularly strange Pokémon licensed products out there, like when it was revealed last month that a Metapod sleeping bag is being sold in Japan for roughly $330.

Luckily, these Poéemon face masks are absolutely adorable. The Pokémon company has teamed up with Original Stitch to provide licensed face masks to fans. When selecting a mask, customers are given the option of selecting from any of the 151 Kanto region Pokémon, all of which have their own unique designs. This can then be combined with four different colors of mesh fabric for the back side of the mask. Customers are also able to purchase bandanas made from the same material or even T-shirts that feature Johto region Pokémon.

Though having remained one of the most popular gaming franchise of all time, the Pokémon franchise has been experiencing something of a resurgence in the last couple of years due to success of the more recent entries in the series. In 2018 Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu broke sales records for the Nintendo Switch by being the fastest selling game on the console at the time. However, this was quickly eclipsed though by the immense popularity of Pokemon: Sword and Shield, which was the first mainline Pokémon game to come to a home console.

With how important mask use has become over the past year, the fact that The Pokémon Company is making official masks will probably be an excellent business decision. On the other hand, even if it isn’t a smart money move, these well-made Pokémon may inspire a little joy and confidence in fans who desperately need a little of either.
