Once players have found the Manhole Hook and entered the sewer in Paper Mario: The Origami King, they will continue progressing the main story by heading toward Peach’s Castle. While down in the area called the Grafitti Underground, they will find the museum curator. As players explore the paper-Goomba-ravaged Toad Town, they should have seen the closed Museum. Finding the Toad curator will reopen the Museum and provide a place for players to quickly travel and check on in-game Collectibles.

To find the Museum’s curator, players will want to find the Manhole Hook in the red brick building by the pier on the eastern side of Toad Town. Along the way, they will likely need to defeat a few Goombas, so they should come ready for a fight. Once they’ve opened the Manhole and gone inside, they’ll be able to find and rescue the Toad curator. This guide will explain how to navigate the Graffiti Underground and find the curator, and what to do once the Museum is unlocked.

The first thing the player will want to do upon descending into the sewer in Paper Mario: The Origami King is to turn on the lights. It’s hard to see otherwise.

Turning on the lights is a matter of hammering the glowing spot on the wall. With the lights on, players will be able to see the Not-So-Bottomless Hole #1 on the wall to the left of the ladder.

Players will want to head right in the Graffiti Underground after turning on the lights and go down the stairs. Along the way, they’ll encounter the Toad cowering in the corner, just out of reach of the Swoops they will battle in the next room. This is the Museum curator. Players can speak to the curator, and all areas of the Museum will be unlocked the next time the player gets to Toad Town.

  • Treasure Gallery: contains all collectible treasures and trophies players can earn.
  • Sound Gallery: contains music tracks
  • Art Gallery: contains paintings the player can unlock using Toad Points.
