Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched on Nintendo Switch a few weeks ago. The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the all-new take on Pokemon games could mean this is how we play them going forward. No more having to battle anyone you make eye contact with, just running around in the wilderness and sneaking up on Pokemon to try and catch them. That’s the way it should have always been.

The more time the 6.5 million+ trainers spend with the game, the more discoveries they make. One of the neatest discoveries made so far is the ability to build a bridge out of Bibarel. You can let any of your Pokemon out of their Pokeballs at almost any time in Legends: Arceus to battle or perform tasks. It just so happens if you do so with Bibarel near water, the beaver Pokemon will happily take a dip.

Since you can let more than one of your team of six out at the same time, if you have more than one Bibarel, you can stand on one while you release another. Then do the same again, and again, until you’re out in the middle of a body of water you wouldn’t otherwise be able to access. You can even use your team of willing Bibarel to cross a river rather than trackback to find a bridge you might have missed.

If you’ve played Legends: Arceus, you’ll know that other than Paras, water is probably the scariest thing about the game. While it doesn’t leave you gasping for breath quite as quickly as Tommy in Vice City, it doesn’t take long before your trainer starts struggling as the screen slowly fades to black. The reveal that you can walk along a Bibarel bridge to prevent that from happening will be music to a lot of people’s ears.

Now that a few weeks have passed, more people are finishing Legends: Arceus. Those who have completed the game are now asking what’s next? Many are convinced DLC is incoming, hypothesizing that areas of Hisui covered in fog will be revealed and eventually give trainers more of the region to explore. A mystery modern-day room has also been discovered, and while that could point towards DLC, that reveal seems more likely to be a scrapped starting point Game Freak didn’t intend for us to find.
