Dataminer pan-hime has discovered another cut scene from Persona 5 Royal, this time featuring the flower-obsessed Mementos baby Jose.

Jose is a brand new character in the Persona 5 universe who’s exclusive to Royal. He is quite a mysterious character, who explains that his ultimate goal is to understand humans better. Looks-wise, he resembles the appearance of a small boy, and has white hair, yellow eyes, and wears a long star- and moon-patterned white coat and similarly designed boots. He can be found in Mementos driving around in his car and will help change the cognition of society’s palace in exchange for stamps and flowers that the Phantom Thieves can collect. Jose can also be seen in the Thieves Den, where he can answer questions players might have about the new location.

However, according to pan-hime’s latest cut scene discovery, it appears the flower-obsessed child was also slated to make an appearance in the real world.

The cut scene was uploaded to YouTube and translated by gamer Faz. As with pan-hime’s other datamined scenes, note that the “5/16” date on the top lefthand corner is a placeholder and not necessarily the intended day this event would’ve taken place.

In this scene, Joker is standing in front of the flower shop in the Shibuya Underground Mall. There is a young boy in front of him, who appears to be a placeholder figure for what would have been Jose. The scene concerns a “Boy in white clothes” (aka, Jose) looking at some flowers, moving on to examining them (even commenting “This looks delicious!”, one of Jose’s signature catchphrases), asking Joker for his opinion on whether or not she should take them, and eventually buying the flowers for himself.

After purchasing the flowers, Jose then walks up to Joker and says “This is for you.” Unfortunately, the scene soft locks following this line, and there is no animated movement or unlocked item, so while it is unclear what Jose is giving to Joker, it can be inferred that it’s the flower he’s bought.

Though this scene is a bit confusing, viewers have speculated that Atlus intended for Jose to take a couple of trips to the real world in the same vein as Justine and Caroline, whom Joker can hang out with throughout various locations in Tokyo.

Regardless of the reasons why Atlus removed this scene, it is now online for fans’ viewing pleasure.

Persona 5 Royal is available now, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
