Frontier has announced a brand new Australia Pack for Planet Zoo bringing Koalas and Dingos and Lizards… oh my! The outback inspired DLC is set to be released on August 25, 2020, and features five new animals as well as foliage, scenery, and construction items inspired by the continent. It’s accompanied by the 1.3 update, which will be free for all, and adds animal color variation, a new sandbox map, vending machines, and more to the base game.

The Australia pack introduces the Red Kangaroo, Dingo, Koala, Southern Cassowary, and Eastern Blue-Tongued Lizard to your zoos. It will also bring a host of scenery items and foliage, all inspired by the Australian Outback.

As well as being able to recreate stunning examples of Australian architecture, you’ll also be able to put your zoo keeping skills to the test with new timed scenarios. These will require you to complete objectives against the clock and you should expect them to stretch your management skills.

The accompanying free update also introduces a range of new features to enhance your zoos. One of the biggest is animal color variation. This increases the differences in animal color, in line with natural occurrences. It will allow for subtle and gradual changes in animal color as well as more noticeable differences such as a 6% chance for Jaguars to be black. These color variations will also be better listed in the animal market trading window, in order to help colorblind players.

Alongside this, the patch adds a new animal food management page to allow you to keep a better eye on food quality, costs, and whether your animals are hungry. You’ll also be able to better feed your guests with vending machines. These will require power and won’t fulfill guest’s needs we well as shops but they can be placed on paths in a similar manner to benches and bins, making them very versatile.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a new sandbox map and a free timed scenario for you to test out the new functionality the Australia Pack offers. There are also some quality of life adjustments, including staff management multi-select and a scenery light toggle.

You can find further details of the free update on the Planet Zoo website. The Australia Pack will be released on August 25, 2020, and requires Planet Zoo to play. Update 1.3 will be live on the same day.
