Pokémon has its fans and naysayers, but it’s a franchise that continues to deliver exquisite content. Whether the recent franchise hasn’t sat well with fans or positively surprised them, Pokémon will never escape the spotlight it created for itself.
The Pokémon themselves have gotten slack regarding their typings over the years, with some fans vouching for changes. The recent Generations have added Fairy-Type Pokémon into the mix, but several would have been better off as Dragon-Types.
10 Togekiss Would Be A Humble Dragon-Type
Togekiss is a beloved creature in the competitive Pokémon scene despite looking weaker than its previous evolution stage. Togekiss is a Pokémon with a lot charisma and a powerful array of fairy-type attacks. However, Togekiss’ design may convince fans that it should be dragon type.
From Togekiss’ giant wings to its spots on its stomach, it’s akin to some of the more humble dragon-types like Drampa. Although Togekiss would lose its resistance to dragons by becoming a dragon, it’d no longer need to worry about a steel-type attack knocking it out.
9 Mawile Is As Cunning As A Dragon Type
Not only is Mawile a Hoenn Pokémon many fans wouldn’t want to exist in real life, it’s a mischievous carnivore whose appearance and cunning would mesh well as a dragon-type. Mawile loves using their cute frontal appearance to trick Pokémon into becoming their next meal with the giant monstrosity it has for a headpiece.
Further, Mawile is a creature that enjoys living and wandering in dark places like caves and dark alleyways. It’s a Pokémon that doesn’t find harm in murdering others, and its mega evolution only enhances its carnivorous instincts.
8 Primarina Would Be A Deceptively Great Dragon-Type
Although many gravitated to Decidueye and Incineroar as their favorite final evolutions from the Alola starters, others adored seeing Popplio evolve into the mermaid sea Primarina – a fairy-type Pokémon that could pass as a dragon-type.
Primarina can produce giant water balloons for performing and defending itself against threatening Pokémon since they can explode. Its design can also imitate water dragons who adore putting on a show while having deadly attacks up their sleeve.
7 Azumarill’s Egg Like Shape & Excellent Hearing Abilities Make It A Perfect Dragon
Azumarill’s egg-shaped design, along with its tremendous hearing, would allow it to pass as a dragon-type instead of a fairy-type. Azumarill can be a powerful Pokémon to tangle with if under the custody of a strategic trainer. Although Azumarill may lose some of its fairy-type attacks like Play Rough, it will gain access to some of the most powerful moves like Outrage with a dragon-typing.
6 Aromatisse Is A Smelly Pokémon That Doesn’t Capture The Fairy-Type Vibe
Aromatisse’s horrid odor may be enough to convince DoFlamingo to want one as his signature Pokémon in One Piece. Aromatisse’s putrid nature is better suited for dragons instead of fairies.
Aromatisse is known for being extremely violent to strangers it encounters and will chase its enemies down while giving off an aroma no one wants flowing into their nostrils. It’s a Pokémon whose appearance and attitude fit with dragons.
5 Mega Audino Would Be A Great Dragon-Type Healer
Mega Audino may have a gentle personality that meshes well with other fairy-types, but it would make for a dragon-type Pokémon when considering different angles. Not only would Mega Audino be one of the best Pokémon to have for emotional support, its skills would make for a kind-hearted dragon-type.
Mega Audino has excellent hearing abilities and is used in hospitals for determining when eggs are wrapping up their hatching processes. Its ears also have a dragon-like aesthetic from a visual perspective.
4 Tapu Koko’s Deity Roots & Bird-Like Design Pass If Off As A Dragon
Tapu Koko was one of many legendaries introduced in Pokémon Sun & Moon, but its design, lore, and powers feel more akin to dragons than fairies. Tapu Koko resembles a chicken-head which is a living organism that’s related to dinosaurs. Since many dinosaur Pokémon are dragons, that information could work in Tapu Koko’s favor.
Further, Tapu Koko is a guardian deity in the Alola region and beloved by the people it protects. This gives Tapu Koko another connection it can have to dragons worshipped in folklore or other pieces of fictional media.
3 Grimmsnarl’s Dark Aesthetic & Personality Suit Dragon-Type Pokémon
From Grimmsnarl’s three pointed feet, spiky soldiers, and threatening appearance, it would be intriguing to see it become a dual dark and dragon-type. Grimmsnarl’s body allows it to become stronger, and its strength is a focal point to its hardy nature toward rival species. Grimmsnarl also loves entangling Pokémon with its spooky tentacles and fighting off muscular Pokémon like Machamp.
2 Granbull’s Canine Appearance Would Make It An Interesting Dragon
While Granbull’s not one of the most dangerous Pokémon from Gen 2, it’s a dog with a ferocious attitude that loves scaring off naysayers. Granbull would fill in the void of some fans’ dreams for a canine-like dragon Pokémon. Granbull’s giant chompers mesh well with other dragon-types like Garchomp. From a design perspective, Granbull would be a fearsome canine dragon Pokémon.
1 While Zacian’s Fairy-Type Lore Makes Sense, Dragon-Type Suits It
Considering how many question Zacian’s fairy-typing, it’s fair to say the Pokémon would work as a dragon-type. While Zacian’s Hero of Many Battles form depicts it as a large dog akin to Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, its Crowned Sword form could give it credence for a dragon-typing.
In his Crowned Sword form, Zacian has access to fringe-like fur and braids that resemble ribbons. Though Zacian’s Fairy King’s sword mimics its fairy-typing, many know it’s a sword whose purpose is to slay dragon Pokémon.
