Pokémon is a staple in the world of anime, with its show running for a total of 22 seasons over 20 years. Nothing is quite like the original series, however, and many nostalgic fans have a soft spot for the friendly shenanigans of the dynamic trio: Ash, Misty, and Brock. These three friends journeyed far and wide on their adventures, and they learned how to handle each other’s quirks early on.

Brock, who is always a ladies man, especially needs to take it easy, and Misty usually has the pleasure of knocking him off his high horse. Here are 10 of the funniest moments Misty had to keep Brock in line.

10 When He’s Around Nurse Joy

Brock falls head-over-heels for the beautiful nurses of the Pokémon Centers every time he encounters one of the identical, pink-haired cousins. Without fail, every trip to get their Pokémon healed up leads to Brock taking Nurse Joy by the hands and giving a bad pickup line that sounds more like a desperate plea. Misty better understands that the hospital is no place for flirting, and that Nurse Joy would rather focus on her job than on the strange, blushing man who stumbled into her workplace. Misty always takes Brock by the ear and drags him away from the puzzled nurse.

9 When He’s Around Officer Jenny

Nurse Joy isn’t the only woman with uncannily similar, same-named family members. The Pokémon police force is run by the identical blue-haired beauties who are all named Jenny. When Brock runs into Officer Jenny, he makes just as much a fool of himself as he does with Nurse Joy. Jenny, however, is better at dealing with Brock herself, often pushing him away with a cold look and crushing rejection. Still, the determined hopeless romantic refuses to give up his pursuits of the policewomen, and Misty constantly drags him away before he can make too large a fool of himself.

8 When Ash And Brock Are A Little Too Fond Of A Girl’s Photo

When Ash, Misty, and Brock first visit a Pokémon school, they meet a young boy who keeps a picture of another student, who is the top of her class and admired by everyone studying there. Her name is Giselle, and she certainly catches the eye of many boys who see her.

When they look at the photo, both Ash and Brock ogle at the girl, and Brock says one of his most notoriously creepy pickup lines: “She can violate my rights if–” Fortunately, Misty cuts in to yell at the pair of distracted boys, reminding them that Giselle is the head of an unfair system of learning at that school. All up in their faces, she rages, saying “While you two are slobbering over this dopey picture I’m gonna find this little witch and straighten her out!”

7 When He Agrees To Help Hunt Tentacool And Tentacruel

It’s no wonder Misty is so quick to yell at her friends when they always become so easily distracted. In one case, Brock and Ash aren’t obsessing over a girl, but rather food. A shady woman offers the three travelers a year-long feast of delicious food in exchange for executing all Tentacool and Tentacruel from the ocean. The boys don’t even seem to hear the conditions of what they must do to get the food, and agree immediately. Furious, Misty speaks up for her belief that hurting the water-type Pokémon is wrong, and storms off from her friends. Brock and Ash both then snap back to reality and chase after their friend.

6 When He Makes Misty Take Psyduck

On one visit to the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy looks worried, and Brock casually approaches her, saying, “What’s the matter? A beautiful woman shouldn’t have too much to be sad about.” Ignoring his idiotic words, Nurse Joy shares her concerns about a psyduck who was holding its head as though in pain. Brock enthusiastically offers to help figure out what’s wrong but looks like he regrets having said anything immediately after.

He then says Misty should take the psyduck, who starts following them, but Misty says she doesn’t want such a boring Pokémon. When she trips and drops a Pokéball, however, psyduck essentially catches itself, and Misty is incredibly annoyed. Even though we don’t see it on screen, Misty definitely gives Brock a piece of her mind after this accidental catch.

5 When He Meets Royalty

Misty’s watch on Brock doesn’t end after Ash and Brock leave their friend to continue on their adventure. When traveling in the Hoenn region with their new pals May and Max, Misty reunites with her old friends as she heads on her way to a Togepi festival. The group ends up meeting the princess of the Mirage Kingdom, and Brock naturally makes his moves on her. Even after being apart for so long, Misty doesn’t hesitate in grabbing Brock by the ear and pulling him away. Ash laughs and says, “It’s just like the old times, huh, Brock?”

4 When He Parties By Himself

When he returns home to Pallet Town, Professor Oak has planned a party to celebrate Ash’s attempt at taking on the Pokémon League. Brock immediately digs into the party’s buffet, chomping down on meat a stick of oden without even thinking of the Pokémon who have been by his side the whole time. Misty points out that the Pokémon should be invited to celebrate too, and her friend agrees, pausing his pigging out to let Geodude, Onix, and Zubat join in on the fun that he was planning to keep all to himself.

3 When He Proposes To Someone He Just Met

Brock and Misty meet up with Ash during his adventures in the Alola region, and soon their friendship dynamic falls right back into the way it always has been. Brock is searching for a specific woman, this time: Olivia, who is the Kahuna of Akala Island. Brock keeps a weird picture book of her before he’s even seen her in person.

When they do meet, tells Olivia that fate must have brought them together, and he proposes on the spot. Misty will have none of this absolute nonsense and does a classic ear-pull to get his attention, yelling, “You search the whole island for her, and you call it destiny?”

2 When He Meets Another Playboy

When Pikachu chokes on fruit and needs a doctor, the traveling trio rushes to a nearby hospital, which is run by a doctor who can right off the bat give Brock a run for his money. This doctor flirts with every female he sees, from Jessie to even Misty herself. When the doctor asks Nurse Joy on a pizza date over the computer phone, Brock turns to Ash and Misty, saying, “I don’t like this guy. He sounds like me!” Maybe Misty’s attempts to keep Brock in line have finally made him self aware of his hopeless romantic personality, or maybe he was just trying to make a joke. Still, Misty has the final line of the scene, agreeing with Brock: “You’re right, that is disturbing.”

1 When He Tells Misty She Has A Bug On Her

While camping out in the woods, Brock tells Misty that there’s a bug on her. Terrified of bugs, Misty freaks out and jumps onto Ash’s back, trying to get away from the creature. Brock, however, holds up a long piece of grass and says that he mistook it for a bug-type Pokémon. He finds his own mistake hilarious and laughs about it. This laughter is the last straw for Misty, who kicks Brock in the head, knocking him to the ground before she rants at him about how angry she is. This by far is one of the funniest moments of Misty getting angry at Brock, as she shouts while he just lies there with a shoe mark on his face.
