The Pokémon franchise, especially due to the numerous fire-type Pokémon that it includes, provides great meme material.

From grass-type pokémon suffering from fire all around them to fire-type pokémon enjoying the flaming chaos that they’ve created, Pokémon includes many ‘This is fine’ opportunities, and fans have definitely taken advantage of this.

10 Bulbasaur

As posted by the user Cora Tison, this meme display what every player who chose Bulbasaur in the first went through. Having to face Charmander, one of the strongest fire-type pokémon, which is also one of Bulbasaur’s main weaknesses, is no easy task.

Above all, this is definitely not fine. This sums up the early game experience in the first generation of Pokémon games where the antagonist is guaranteed to pick the player’s choice main weakness. If the player chooses Bulbasaur, they will face Charmander.

9 Shiny in the First Bushes

Similar to how fire beats grass, grass beats water, and, with the antagonist guaranteed to pick the grass-type starter whenever the player chooses Swampert and with the player having to face the antagonist multiple times throughout the games, Swampert is always facing an uphill battle.

This is a reference to most Pokémon Go updates, and specifically to the players’ reaction to them. When an update is released, fans are split into two groups; on the one hand, there are the players who expect new features, events, cosmetics, or any significant gameplay changes.

Then, on the other hand, Niantic, the company behind Pokémon Go, releases only minor text fixes and removes tracking—things that are insignificant, and definitely not what players expected when they saw an update.
