Pokémon BDSP How To Evolve Kirlia Into Gallade or Gardevoir

Trainers have the option to evolve Kirlia into a Gallade or Gardevoir in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. To get Kirlia, players must first catch Ralts and evolve it into Kirlia or catch Kirlia in the wild. Ralts is a Pokémon that initially debuted back in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. In that entry, players would face off against Wally, a rival trainer who had Ralts as his primary partner. Although, players were only able to evolve Ralts into Kirlia and then Gardevoir, when Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were released, Kirlia could evolve into a new form called Gallade. Both Gardervoir and Gallade have their strengths/weaknesses, and obtaining them is required for the National Dex.

For starters, players will need to find Ralts. There are currently two different ways to obtain Ralts in Pokémon BDSP. First, Ralts can be found in the Dazzling Cave, Stargleam Cavern, or Fountainspring Cave within the Grand Underground but it only has a 20-30% chance of appearing. Alternatively, players can get it to spawn by using the Poké Radar, an item that is unlocked after players complete the Sinnoh Dex. Trainers can head over to Route 203 or 204 and use the Poké Radar as it will cause the grass to shake so that Ralts can make an appearance in this area.

Now that the player has collected a Ralts as a rare spawn in the Grand Underground or in the wild, they can focus on evolving it into a Kirlia. Ralts will evolve into Kirlia once it reaches level 20 but this is where things can get a bit tricky. Each evolution of Kirlia is assigned to a specific gender, and players looking to get a Gardevoir will need to have a female Kirlia. At the same time, the Male Kirlia will evolve into Gallade under certain circumstances.

Evolving Kirlia Into Gardevoir or Gallade in Pokémon BDSP

  • Evolving Kirlia Into Gallade: Players looking to have this Psychic/Fighting-type Pokémon will need to have a male Kirlia and give it a Dawn Stone. There is no level requirement to evolve it.
  • Evolving Kirlia Into Gardevoir: Players looking to have this Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon will need to have a female Kirlia and raise it to level 30. It will then evolve into Gardevoir.

There are three different locations where the Dawn Stone can be found in Pokémon BDSP. They are located on Route 225, Mount Coronet (near Route 207), and within the Grand Underground. It is worth pointing out, both Gallade and Gardevior are incredibly powerful Pokémon and will work well on any team. Players struggling to decide which one to pick should cover their team’s weaknesses first and select the appropriate form. For example, having a Gallade will do more physical damage to enemy Pokémon, while Gardevoir will do more special damage. Having any of the two Pokémon on a trainer’s team could be beneficial for competitive matches as both forms are easily one of the best Pokémon of the generation.
