Pokémon BDSP How To Find (& Catch) Heatran

Heatran made its debut in the original games and returned in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl for players to find and capture. The Sinnoh region has been praised due to the large number of legendary Pokémon that trainers can discover. Many remain hidden within caves outside of the main legendaries like Palkia and Dialga, waiting for a worthy challenger to face them. After completing the main story and becoming the Champion, players will unlock access to the Fight Area on the map. This is where the postgame content begins. After beating the game, head over to Snowpoint City and speak to the sailor who will transport the player to the Fight Area.

Here, players will meet Buck, and he will mention a treasure that can be found hidden within Stark Mountain. It’s important to note that players will need to get the National Dex first; otherwise, NPCs will block the locations beyond the Fight Area. Getting Heatran could be beneficial to trainers as it is one of the best Pokémon to have in your team for competitive battles in BDSP.

To find and catch Heatran, players will need to go to Stark Mountain. This is a dangerous dungeon full of powerful Pokémon, so make sure to prepare with Max Potions, Full Heals, and Revives before heading to this location. Then, head towards the back, and help Buck get to the final room. He will then take the Magma Stone, and the player will now need to leave the room with him.

Returning The Magma Stone To Heatran in Pokémon BDSP

After Buck leaves, the player will need to return to the Survival Area and speak with the grandfather. He will warn the player that if the Magma Stone isn’t returned to Stark Mountain, it will cause the volcano to erupt. Buck panics and quickly heads back to Stark Mountain to return the Magma Stone. If players return to Stark Mountain and enter that final room with Buck, the legendary Pokémon Heatran will appear.

Heatran is at Level 70 with Metal Sound, Earth Power, Heat Wave, and Stone Edge moves. It is also a Fire/Steel-type Pokémon, meaning players should bring Poison, Flying, Normal, Flying, or Psychic-type Pokémon to resist Heatran’s attacks. Since this is a legendary Pokémon, its catch rate is pretty low. So, try using a status ailment move like Hypnosis or Thunder Wave to make the battle easier. Alternatively, players can use the Master Ball they got early in the game to save time. Heatran is just one of the many other legendary Pokémon that become available in the postgame. It has a pretty high Special Attack and Special Defense stat, making it easier to do more special damage while also withstanding it.
