Pokémon Crown Tundra DLC How to Find The King of Bountiful Harvests

The Pokémon Sword & Shield: Crown Tundra DLC has so far been a hit with fans, introducing over 200 Pokémon for players to find and catch. Players can experience the Crown Tundra, a new area with new story missions and characters, and collect familiar and new Pokémon, including some fan favorites. The DLC also rolled out a new game mode, Dynamax Adventure, allowing players to compete through a dungeon to eventually find and capture a Legendary Pokémon. One of the most popular Pokémon to finally make its debut in Sword & Shield is Calyrex, a Grass and Psychic Type Pokémon. Calyrex plays a major role in the main story of the Crown Tundra DLC, and players will need to find it early in the game.

After doing the first Max Raid run of the DLC and meeting Peony the first time, players will need to make their way to Freezington. They can get here quickly from the Max Raid den to continue the main story. In Freezington, players will converse with the mayor, who will tell the player a story of the King of Bountiful Harvests, a legendary creature. Players will soon learn that this King of Bountiful Harvests is Calyrex, and they will need to find and help him. Unlike when players go to find and catch other Pokémon, there is a process to finding Calyrex in the context of the main story.

While players are talking to the mayor, they will learn that the statue in Freezington of the King of Bountiful Harvests is missing its head. The player will want to be on the lookout for this missing piece of the statue, as it is essential to finding the King.

Once players speak with the mayor, they will need to enter Peony’s house. This is the one in town with the flags on the outside. Peony will appoint the player Expedition Chief in search of Calyrex and offer them Legendary Clue 1, 2, and 3. The first of these is the clue that will lead players to Calyrex, but each clue can be tackled in any order that suits the player. Peony will also give players a Master Ball, which will come in handy later in the game.

Players will find the statue’s missing head on Peony’s table and will need to take it to continue the quest. Interacting with it should do the trick. Then, if they need to, they can heal and change in Peony’s home before finally accepting the call for adventure.

The player will need to reattach the statue’s head. This will prompt Calyrex to materialize behind the statue. The player needs to follow it into the clearing and interact to begin the first battle with it. At this point, players can only battle it, but won’t be able to catch it yet.

After the battle, Calyrex will give the player several tasks, asking them to speak to NPC villagers, find the mayor, plant a few carrots, and help find Calyrex’s steed. Players will get to choose where to plant the carrots, which will determine which Legendary horse Pokémon they receive as Calyrex’s steed, Glastrier or Spectrier.

Eventually, after helping Calyrex create the Reins of Unity and fuse with whichever steed the player has chosen, the player can battle and catch Calyrex for their collection and party.
