Ash Ketchum has owned many Pokémon in many different regions since the start of the anime. He’s owned some types more than others. For example, Pikachu, his longtime companion, has been his only electric-type and Gengar has been the only ghost-type in his collection.

Ash has owned 10 fighting-types since the start of the series. Some he kept, some he had to release. Ash is still far from completing his Pokédex in this area, and there are a ton of fighting-Pokémon he’s never even encountered. This doesn’t prevent him from succeeding in battle, however. Ash continues to take down trainers, as he has throughout eight generations of Pokémon.
