Whether fans enjoyed defeating their arrogant rival Blue during the Kanto region’s Pokémon League or loved battling an unknown powerful foe, Pokémon games continue to sell well across the world. Considering Barry’s father Palmer is one of Sinnoh’s frontier, brains; it makes sense for his son to aspire to become as formidable as the man who raised him. Barry may tend to leave scenes swiftly and being a clumsy fellow occasionally, but he’s not a Pokémon trainer, fans want to take lightly.

Although N has Colress beat concerning Pokémon’s most likable villains, Colress is the best trainer in the Unova region, thanks to Pokémon Black & White 2. Despite N having a mature storyline that many fans appreciated, Colress consistently appears in future Pokémon titles and gives players a challenging battle in the Plasma Frigate.

Not only can the players challenge Colress many times, but by examining his team of steel types from Metagross to Beheeyem, he’ll give fans and N a heated battle. From his constant reappearances, scientist background, and notable feats, Colress is someone fans don’t want to take lightly.

3 Kalos: Serena/Calem Are Trainers That Grow Alongside Individual’s On Their Journies & Give The Trainer An Epic Final Pokémon Battle

Although some Pokémon fans argue Serena’s one of Ash’s friends, everyone wants to stay gone; she’s a skilled performer in the Kalos anime and a well-developed Pokémon trainer. Although Diantha reigned as the region’s champion, fans learned that Serena or Calem was the battle to seal their Kalos journey.

After becoming champions, players encounter their rival, Serena or Calem, depending on whether they played as a female or male character, waiting for them in Kiloude City, where they now possess a Mega Ring. The battle not only served as a pleasant send-off for the Kalos’s region’s storyline but will give fans closure with their rival.

2 Alola: Veteran Aristo’s A Trainer Who’ll Only Accept Pokémon Battle Requests From Those Who Defeated Every Skilled Trainer In Alola

The Alola region gave fans a subtle new obstacle to contend with regarding the region’s Island Challenge and activities players had to complete before battling that area’s Kahuna. Although Pokémon Sun & Moon and its sequels Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon gave players returning and new challengers, Veteran Aristo served as the fans’ final battle.

Although the Pokémon Veteran Aristo had in his team didn’t match the levels of other boss-like characters, the requirements trainers had to complete to challenge him to prove he may have let fans off easy. Thus, fans must defeat every skilled trainer in the Alola region before they can battle Aristo.

1 Galar: Leon Was An Undefeated Pokémon Champion & Gives Trainers A Memorable Bout

Leon’s not only one of Ash’s most powerful opponents in the anime, but his video-game counterpart proved to be a worthy challenge for many fans in Pokémon Sword & Shield. With the mantra of being an undefeated Pokémon champion of the Galar Region, Leon had many shoes to fill for fans to take him up on his word.

Although fans eventually end Leon’s undefeated streak in Pokémon Sword & Shield, the character does come back to reissue a challenge to the player to see if they’re worthy of being crowned Galar’s new Pokémon champion. Both battles are a spectacle to behold, and with each Pokémon battle, fans come to appreciate Leon for being a talented Pokémon trainer.
