Pokémon Fan Reimagines The Entire First Gen As Charizard

Everyone’s favorite fully evolved Gen I starter is Charizard, right? Well, what if we told you that every Gen I Pokémon could be Charizard?

Pokémon Home launched this month and with it, the return of the ability for trainers to complete a full Pokédex. Game Freak removed that ability from its games for the first time in the series’ history via Sword and Shield. That was met with backlash unlike anything the developers will have ever seen, although it didn’t affect the games’ sales once they had eventually been released.

The decision to limit the Dex was one most people probably understood. Trainers who have subscribed to Home will have noticed there are 890 Pokémon to collect in total. Imagine including those all in one world all at once. Madness when you really give it some thought. The mere fact that almost 900 Pokémon have been individually designed and created at all is madness in itself.

900 Pokémon still isn’t enough for some people. The demand for shiny versions and alternate forms continues to rage on. Some trainers have even taken matters into their own hands and created unique Pokémon of their own. Our favorite offering? A Redditor who decided to reimagine every single one of the original 151 Pokémon as Charizard, creatively naming their finished piece as the Charidex.

Mewtwo, Blastoise, Scyther, Jynx. You name it, if the Pokémon was a part of Gen I, Robbedob has transformed it into some weird Charizard hybrid. The only Pokémon who remains untainted is Charizard itself because simple Pokémon math dictates that Charizard multiplied by Charizard is just, well, Charizard. Our personal favorite? Charizard-Snorlax which looks significantly more grumpy than regular Snorlax.

As far as the most jarring designs of the 151, our votes would have to go to Charmander and Charmeleon. That might sound odd as those two Pokémon evolve into Charizard so share similaritoes with the fire-type. For some reason, since they are unevolved versions of Charizard, we expected them to remain untouched. That made it all the more shocking when we scanned the 151 and saw they were both now sporting Charizard’s face.
